Upper back pain

Hi all I hope Sunday is treating you well and that your partner is/has cooked dinner 🤗 I have started getting some upper back pain that can appear with an IBS flare, probably nothing to do with it and could be just muscular but I am thinking it could be caused by the IBS and digestion, nausea can also be a problem if I have food that doesn't agree with me like say Chinese 🤔🤔

Hi although I posted this nearly 2 years ago I still find it effects me, strangely I hadn't had it for a few months and yesterday it appeared yesterday which could have been from posture

I'm sorry your suffering with it because it can be incredibly painful and difficult to pinpoint what is causing it, I have not been allowed ranitidine for 3 weeks while I have liver tests because of raised ALP so that's not helping

What have you tried, have you tried stretching your upper body to see if it eases it

I have bad back pain as well that seems to be associated with gas and bloating. Im irritated with the GI doctor because he doesn't want to do further testing but after reading all of your post maybe he's right it's just IBS. Is so frustrating I'm so annoyed.

I totally believe it can be caused by IBS amongst other things, including acid reflux

bad posture, lifting wrongly, even a bad mattress

Mostly I'm leaning towards reflux as anti acids help it most of the time

    Hi Alexandria,

what's strange is that chiropractic adjustments and massages do help with the pain, but the pain mostly kicks in when I eat something spicy or fried. I was barely just diagnosed with gastritis and IBS yesterday. Ive been dealing with the upper back pain due to what I eat for about 8 weeks now, all of my blood tests, CT Scans, colonoscopy/endoscopy show Zero abnormalities. It's pretty frustrating.

I went crazy with the pain when I first started getting it, convinced it was something really bad especially after speaking to Dr Google, in the end I went Dr's, they assured me it wasn't anything serious which did help some but I also had heartburn so was prescribed ranitidine, that did take it off so I was quite relieved but now I manage the heartburn with OTC anti acids simply because a combination of rits a atorvastatin where raising some of my liver tests

I don't stress so much over it but I don't like it 😂

      Stretching does help sometimes
