Using Clobetasol (Dermavate) with no symptoms

Posted , 12 users are following.

Hi,

Currently I have no symptoms of LS (in the past I was diagnosed by biopsy and used a variety of different potions and treatments). I've had some fusing but seem to be stable at the moment.

I'd like to ask the experience ladies with LS what is your protocol on using Clobetasol (Dermavate) long term when you have no symptoms (itching, burning, white plaques, lesions)?

Appreciate your input.

I'm very new here (6 days ago!) and watched/listened to Dr. Goldstein's very informative presentation on the "New Here" thread. He is emphatic that it should not be stopped completely ~~ so that's his view on the subject.

I called the Clinic in DC and asked about an appointment with Dr. Goldstein. Your first appointment is $ 1,400.00. No insurance taken.

Seems strange a doctor would not take insurance.... Any reason offered? Thanks

He's doing that clinical trial, but why would you have to pay to be part of his research. As a Canadian I have to say I'm appalled.

One thing about Dr. G. Bothers me is that he makes his 1200 LS patients sound like a world record. My gynae has 1000 and it's a regional rural practice.

I sent you a private message with a link to a doctor who says he can unbury a clitoris.

It is with great discomfort that I see what some medics dare to ask for a first appointment.

I shall never complain about NHS in Scotland ever again. We do have private medical insurance however if certain conditions are not covered we can go to NHS for treatment. Our only downside really is the waiting time. If we are not happy with the consultant we can ask for someone else.

That truly is a lot of money !!!!

I have read Dr Goldsteins presentation, and much of what he says does sound like good sense, but it does not mean he has all the answers.   I always thought there was a slight arrogance there  as he talks as though he alone is an authority on LS, which is not the case, and what he is charging his patients is disappointing and just confirms my view of him to be honest.

Quick rich scheme over the suffering of others less fortunate - it is not the way I see humanity would function at its best.

I was just letting a new member know what the video on the "new here" thread -- which we are directed to -- I wasn't advocating him. Merely shared his view.

Dr. G's video is still a great LS 101, but I wouldn't be rushing down to Washington DC to see him. I think most gynaecologists and dermatologists can diagnose LS and write the usual prescriptions and check for cancer annually. Once you start looking into some of the experimental treatments, it's big bucks.

Just to clarify, I wasn't the one who was considering going there. We have excellent medical care here.

I totally agree.   I pay $110 to see my Gyno which is the norm in the Country I live.
