Hi i really sympathise with you hear, had these very month whilst on the contraceptive pill for years, felt like a UTI but never was most the time. My last bout was approx 3 months ago and was the worst ive ever felt yet, the discomfort in the urethral area and all surrounding areas was so bad i couldn't bare to walk, the stinging and burning went on for ages after i went to wee. Thanks again to my Kinesiology practitioner lady she assured me i had no infection, i had made things very bad myself by reading on line how good apple cider vinegar and lemon juice in water were really good for us. Turns out these two things had made me so acidy it caused swelling and burning. She told me to drink nothing but water, take one desert spoonful of virgin olive oil twice a day before food, drink aloe vera juice , keep off sugary stuff especially chocolate, and drink the powders for cystitis . I had whats called interstitial cystitis, (painful bladder syndrome) I thought it would never go but it did. Aloe vera Juice and olive oil are internal healers. I also have a slight prolapse which i thought was my problem but it turned out not to be, everything is just close to each other down there inflammation affects it seems every part. Were you told you def had infections? i was told this on one occasion, then when i went back was told still there and given another lot of antibiotics, then guess what the proper test done at hospital path lab showed no infection, i had taken two lots of antibiotics for nothing.! The dips tick method they do at the GP surgery even the gp told me himself they arnt very reliable.. As for the D mannose powders they only help if its an infection caused by ecoli and you need to drink a lot of them too, one potful isn't enough and its so expensive too, but many have had good results from drinking these, with me i was waking up with throbbing over the bladder area so didn't bother with this any more. You don't give your age so could it be hormonal or peri menopause ?

Hi right if your infection keeps showing the ecoli bacteria then yes its a proper infection and D mannose powders should get rid but you will need to keep taking this for a few weeks, one tub isn't enough. I wonder how your getting a repeat of the ecoli bacteria though. Im 68, was given the pesseries vagifem about your age to use, worked good as well but sadly had to stop using them.
