Vaginal atrophy

I have been prescribed Estriol cream for this horrible condition.  Have been using it for a week, and some improvement but not a great deal.  Anyone know how long this cream takes to kick in?

    Hi, see my recent post discussion for where I'm up to but none hormonally I can recomment Aloe vera gel, the organic stuff, I use the applicator from my Replens to insert it deep in the vagina and all over the outside. Because it's thick it provides the lubrication required and it's really gentle on the skin. It was recommended by my Gynae. I also use Blance active pessaires everyday, I look out for when they're on offer and buy as many packs as I can. Cikey it's miserable but you must just keep experimenting. I'm recording how bad it is out of 5, 3 = interfering with life 4 & 5 totoally unacceptable, it's helping me decide if I really should try HRT and it's kinda therapy writing down how it's been when it's been bad. There are worse things...but not many..x

    Hi, my name is Karny Jacoby and I'm a female urologist in the Seattle area following some of the discussions about the MonaLisa Touch laser and atrophic vaginitis.  Estriol is 100 times less potent than estradiol and is unlikely to make much difference if your atrophic vaginitis is significant.  You might consider the MonaLisa Touch laser if you are looking to minimize your exposure to hormones.
