I am suffering badly with vaginal Atrophy.   Can anybody give advice please

      Hi Paisleygirl.  Im 69 and was diagnosed 4 years ago with Vaginal Atrophy.  I kept bleeding occasionally and after gyn had a look they said how tender it was up there. . What are your symptoms

    My symptom is mainly burning and redness and sometimes swelling of the outer labia....a couple of years ago when I got my internal done I spotted really badly for a week and hurt for a few days after I called the doctor and he said yep that's normal at your age could be a bit of atrophy but that was it ....I've had urethra pain and burning on and off and am very susceptible to utis ...I'm actually on my way to the clinic right now had severe urethral burning for a few weeks now can't take the pain anymore thinking maybe an infection....

      There may be threads specifically related to AV and UTIs. Seems a LOT of women have that nasty problem. Shirley was one if you can find her posts. I believe she is the one who was recently cured by using a particular antibiotic, but we are all different as to what we respond to.

      I just came from the doctor there are white blood cells in my urine which isn't unusual for me so he has sent my urine to 've cultured he says everything looks pretty good but does think that I could benefit from some prematin cream to use vaginally twice a week he believes that will help the inflammation and burning that I have .....here's hoping.... I'm desperate to be pain free again

      Hi Paisleygirl.  For the burning and inflammation try Estriol cream twice a week.  Its working for me.  Its a slow process so bear with it.  Ive been getting a lot of good advice from, Sukigirl, Beverly and Wendy

    Hi Rith I would try one session of Mona Lisa Laser treatment especially if your problem is higher up it has certainly helped mine in this region although I am still struggling on the outer bits
