I am 18 and literally an hour ago realised a painful lump on the inner lip of my vagina... I really don't want to go to the doctor for this does anyone know any effective treatments I can do from home to get rid of it?!

I never knew about these and I'm almost 50 and just had my first one.  According to all the women here who share all this good info, they are common.  Here's what I did.... First, sometimes the duct can just get clogged.  This causes pain, but NOT on the level as when the clog becomes infected (abscess).  Worst pain in the world.  You'll know it's infected because you get a lump there.  Mine was the size of a large marble but others say they can get larger.  I didn't know what was happening! But I had to have relief!  So from everything I could read I decided to get a good thick towel to put under my bottom and I got a zip lock bag with very hot water in it and I put it directly on the cyst.  I made sure the bag kept contact with the cyst and also massaged the area a little.  After about 20 min when it started to cool, I made another hot water bag and very soon as I was massaging the cyst burst.  Lots of blood came out that's why you need a towel under you.  That was in May and so far it has not come back.  Don't wear tight underwear or pants in the future, and sleep with no bottoms on sometimes. Good luck.

Whatever you have read into all these comments, dont be afraid and dont think the worst. If you are in UK dont go buying medicines on the net,go to your doctor to get it sorted quickly and cheaply.  It may never recur so dont start thinking you will get more and more as you get older.     If it does recur then again,go back to see your doctor.  Dont make a simple thing complicated by worry.
