Yay.... I did ten minutes on the power tek machine today!!! Mind you, I was flippin' exhausted just running the cable to the the socket and finding the on-switch - standing on the machine was a doddle after that!
Did some squats and calf-raises on it then jumped off quick cos it's right next to the window and the postie suddenly appeared. I thought the sight of me in dressing gown, makeupless, puffing and panting, gasping and wheezing whilst visibly and inexplicably wobbling like a jelly would be more than the poor soul could suffer.
Bright and sunny here so perhaps the thaw is on its way. Hope you're all well.

....really do think your thread title should have been something like 'Stitch's good vibrations' or Postmans' treat' though!

It would have been no treat for the postman, honestly! ;-))
It does help when others are making moves, doesn't it. If it hadn't been for you, Van, I'd never have got into it in the first place so it's always your exercise to me.
We'll have to brace ourselves and set a time to all start together? Ten o'clock tomorrow morning? Earlier? Later? LOL... where's Jacee when we need her!

I did pr over 5 years ago and have never stopped exercising since, benefits far outweigh the disadvantages, good for breathing, mobility, fitness levels, stamina, mood, (feeling good levels increased) etc etc.
Onward and upward
Enjoy

Hi All - I'm back. I spent two days sleeping :sleepy: and wallowing in misery and self pity - over it now. Did a lot of thinking, listened to advice (thanks friends) and took two days off work as they owed me about a fortnight in TOIL. I went in this morning, demanded (politely but firmly) time with a manager and explained that the very cold weather was adversely affecting my breathing :puff: and that I felt that I was unable to continue to fulfil the high rate of work (much too high at present) as it was making me too anxious. I have told them I will pursue retirement on health grounds. In the meantime I have said I will work from home and make inroads into the mountain of paperwork I have, whilst they find others to reallocate my case load to (no easy task as I was carrying 6 x the recommended level of cases in proceedings - I spent more time in Court than a barrister).
So, to the exercise thread.......I will now need to ensure I take sufficient exercise and so will be joining Stitch, Van and anyone else who wants to join us. Shall we say 10:30 tomorrow? If this is inconvenient for anyone let us know and we will change it. All together now ladies \"hup, two, three, four\"!:tennis: :surfer: :football:

Anyway, all was saying was, Sorry Jacee, I didn't manage to keep our 10.30 meet. Son decided he needed a lift urgently to meet an eleven o'clock appointment leaving just enough time to shower and dress.
I did, however, spend one and a half hours wandering around town but don't know how much that counts because I was on the flat. Too tired to do it now so will have to make up for it tomorrow.

This is your first and final warning. You will not be excused proper exercise class again without a note signed by your mother.
Yours sincerely
TEECHER
Glad you got out again but exercising was lonely without you.

Not feeling too bad healthwise, although a bit depressed. This time of year isn't very kind to those of us who are on our own. Sorry to be a party pooper - but I'm sure some of you will understand

You do so much more exercise :tennis: than me!! Glad you are feeling healthy(ish). And anyone who can provide a note from the parish priest has my respect!!
I have also ironed bank notes recently, to be ready to leave tips in plenty of time. You are right, the cost keeps on rising -
I remember doing 10 shilling notes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hubby and I went to Asda, Argos and Game (computer shop) a few weeks ago and bought grandchildren gifts. Also managed most of the adult gifts :gift: we need. I may have mentioned (once or twice) that I am going away for Christmas? :cracker: This means no food shop. I was so sick of going food shopping, then going again, then again, then going to get things I may run out of, then things others may want that I don't usually buy, then a bit more of everything just in case - I mean, the shops were closed two whole days!! Then there was the booze shop. The amount I bought you would be forgiven for thinking we were a family of alcoholics - then I gave most of it away to visitors to take home with them (when will I drink port? :redwine: ). I hope you will be spending the holiday with people who love you.
10:30 today??

It wasn't me who was shovelling snow, I'm afraid. The last thing I'd be doing is going out in it, much less shovelling it! Even so, I've still managed to come down with the lurgy so feeling pretty sorry for myself at the moment.
I didn't get to the 10.30, I'm afraid. I managed to wash dishes, straighten cushions, change throws and have a shower; now I'm curled up on the sofa, scrubbed clean, wrapped up warm while waiting to see if the lurgy develops enough to get on the tablets. Tired enough to sleep now so hope I'lll feel better when I wake up.
