Vertigo Menieres

Posted , 24 users are following.

So I have Menieres and I had a violent attack on the 22nd I woke up to spinning.  Laid there for 4 hours on one side.  I have had all the test MRI so no brain tumors etc.  What my issue is I get so depressed and anxious after these attacks maybe it is waiting for the next one which for me rarely happens.  But the in balance and anxiety like I said stays....How does anyone else with this problem keep their spirits up.  I dread being around the grand kids much less shopping or anything.  I have shut down in the past and I am so done with this 30 years of hell on earth.  IT has truly taken every thing away from me.  What I am trying to say is am I the only one that just does not care anymore if I live or die. I think this disease has won.

Hello. I have been very depressed and scared and cry all the time because it is so dibilitating.  I have to look at it this way.   It could be worse I know that doethelp much when you feel so badly.  And I am sure the people who love you want you to continue to fight this.  I’ve read about surgery that can help. Try to think about the people who love you and know others feel like you and do have the disease much worse.  Maybe try to talk to your doctors about options?   I’m sorry you are so depressed I wish I could help. Hang in there we know what you are going through and pray for you too

    Hello,

Recently, I was diagnosed with Meniere disease as well. I started with tinitus then dizziness, blurry vision though i never experienced vertigo before. i thought I have to live with disease forever but I didnt give up researching this disease online and came across Meniere disease is connected to neck misalignment though medically it never prove it is true. It is the top 2 bone of ur neck being shifted. So I went to see Upper Cervical Chiropractor and took precise x-ray and it indicates my top neck bone being shifted to my left even cervical MRI can not detect that. Only Upper Cervical Chiropractoe able to detect through their special training techniques. Do the doctor adjusted my top bone without popping or cracking my neck. After 3 hours later after i went home, my dizziness start to disappear slowly and I was in shock and I didnt believe it. I keep thinking it is just in my head only. So I went to sleep as normal. When I woke up in the morning, I walked to restroom and realized the dizziness is gone for real, i move my head back and forth to test it , and it is real , it is gone. I screamed and cried so loud for the signifantly relieve and can not believe only 1 adjustment from the doctod can shift my neck allign with my head. All of sudden, i start to realized I can see things clear, no longer have blurry vision. On 2nd day, my tinninus start to also be so low where i can barely hear any rinning noise anymore. Please take my words and visit upper cervical chiropractor . remember, i emphasize Upper cervical chiropractor, not regular chiropractor. Upper Cervical is specialized in neck misalignment. Regular chiropractor only made it worse after neck adjustment. There are just little over 100 upper cervical in the U.S, im glad i found one in Los Angeles. I found cure so i want to spread my words to those who sufferring without knowing you can get cured from neck alignment

Did you ask chiro that what happens if your C1 and C2 get misaligned again? this can happen in a few months again and it will keep happening.

yes it can happen again because the misalignment has been a while. so that is why i'm on treatment plan to train the muscle and brain to stay at the new spot. but at least i know where my problem is and the doctor who can help me put me back again and again better than nothing is done and suffer. i went to many doctors as well they gave up on me and said i hv to live with this disease forever which is so depressing.

I think it’s great this work for you.

However, I had the same done as you and it made me significantly worse for 2 weeks and no better after. All causes are different for different people.

I wholly regret going anywhere near a chiropractor, causing me to lose 2 weeks wages. Everything must be done with caution

did you go to upper cervical chiro or regular chiro? at first, i went to regular chiro and it made my dizziness worse for 1 month before i realized it was a mistake to go regu chiro. Also, im very sure it is also depends on doctor's skill as well technique, experience. My body is responding so well after 2 adjustment. Doctor measured my feet length, my shoulder length and use high tech to scan my neck before and after adjustment.

Yes upper cervical. Not dependent on the chiropractor, dependent on the cause of vertigo. I’m all for chiropractic work as I have severe, chronic back problems however, we can’t generalise and tell people that’s what’s causing theirs as it may not be and cause further problems.

true. agree with you. Maybe my meniere is not that severe compare to many ppl here. I have not experienced vertigo yet but dizziness...

I had mine for 4 years and just this summer due to stress I had a full blown vertigo attack and kept getting them for two months. So keep stress down and salt intake down

Hi jonese ! No! Don't you dare give up! I too am a grandma, I know how you feel, it's very scary after you have an attack! Maybe you should go back to your Dr. and tell him how you feel?? Have you had the surgery for the verdigo? I, had it in 2007,it greatly helped me with the veritgo, I do still have some dizziness, but not like the vertigo! I will pray for you!

Don't give up. When I'm feeling sick and am down for the count, I like to FaceTime people that I love. You can use Skype or Zoom too, that way you can lay down the whole time. Yesterday I was sick and coming to terms with the fact that I'll have Meniere's for the rest of my life, but I FaceTimed my friend and I actually felt better both emotionally and physically. I would also advise you to see an otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor) about possibly getting surgery to replace the valve that drains the excess fluid out of your inner ear. But remember, it does get better! Keep your chin up. Better days are coming,

You cannot let it win. I was recently diagnosed with Menierre's and have had it for about 20 years. It comes and goes about every 3 or 4 years, and reminds me it's not completely gone. I am lucky in that I can manage it and gather myself. I see where there are others that have it all the time. The lack of control over it is so entirely scary and frustrating and makes you want to cry. I have found that Dr. Foster's half somersault manuever works. I know that if you are like me, you would be willing to try anything to get gone. I too have felt like if this does not go away, I am not sure how I can continue on. I can drive, I still go to work, I can gather myself, but I am still dizzy all day. This go around has lasted 4 days so far. I am trying to stay positive and happy and not let it make me crazy and scared. I cry in my car before work and on the way home. I don't like not having control of myself and it's a very tricky thing. Stay away from salt. Someone else told me to eat a banana a day too. I think it helps to talk to someone who understands it too. I hope it gets better for you because I know how it feels and it sucks!!
