Vertigo Menieres

Posted , 24 users are following.

So I have Menieres and I had a violent attack on the 22nd I woke up to spinning.  Laid there for 4 hours on one side.  I have had all the test MRI so no brain tumors etc.  What my issue is I get so depressed and anxious after these attacks maybe it is waiting for the next one which for me rarely happens.  But the in balance and anxiety like I said stays....How does anyone else with this problem keep their spirits up.  I dread being around the grand kids much less shopping or anything.  I have shut down in the past and I am so done with this 30 years of hell on earth.  IT has truly taken every thing away from me.  What I am trying to say is am I the only one that just does not care anymore if I live or die. I think this disease has won.

I have felt just like you at times with this damn disease. I have spent a lot of time crying and feeling sorry for myself also. PLEASE, do NOT let this disease win !!!!! Go find a ENT dr who knows the disease and can at least understand what you are feeling. I find myself explaining this disease to medical personal also. Keep searching, but please do not MD win.

NO, stop talking like that! The disease has not won! Ok, so I totally understand what your saying. I’ve been there so many times. Where do you live? Do you have a good ent? Is there a vertigo specialist in your area?

I have had vertigo off and on for over 3 years. It’s been so bad I’ve gone to the ER as I’ve had 3 strokes and twice was in the hospital for a month 2 times.

Every time I have a stroke I have had vertigo before the strokes sometimes days at a time. So bad I would have to crawl to my bedroom. I know how you feel and I’ve told my husband I didn’t want to live anymore.

My blood pressure plays a big part in it. I’m on high dose of bp medicine to keep it down. My nueologist referred me to a vertigo specialist and I believe he’s helped me the most with balance and lots of exercises to prevent vertigo I do everyday.

it’s so complicated but there’s help. Keep your anxiety down with no caffeine and look for a vertigo specialist. Please no more talk of giving up, it can always be worse, blessings, Chris

    Jonese,

Sorry to hear you have been suffering with this terrible affliction for so long. I now feel more fortunate that I was spared that much time and only have a couple years of meltdowns. I had bone removal surgery a year ago and with that, a low sodium diet and my CBD drops, at the first sign of pressure in my bad ear, I have been able to stave off any more events. I carry my dropper bottle with me at all times and it does bring peace of mind. Hopefully, where you live, you can get some and try it. It works by drops (I use 4 to 6 drops) under your tongue. It reduces anxiety, and calms nerves in the ear. I buy the hemp oil (no THC)

It has been a Godsend for me.

Glenn- I bought the CBD hemp oil and I have not really noticed any difference in anxiety or with my tinnitus yet.  I’ve tried 6 drops, but the bottle says a serving is 15 drops.  Should I try 15 drops?   I really would love to have reduced anxiety.

      Jgaitan,

Yes, try 15, I use 6 but don't have tinnitus. There is no limit that I know of. My brother takes a half a dropper to help him sleep. I've never counted how many drops in a dropper. What is the mg rating on your bottle? Mine is 250mg

I tried the oil it really did not help me at all.  I think my anxiety level is through the roof if you know what I mean.  I cant turn my head without getting dizzy and off balance and it scares the crap out of me.  The vertigo is not that often but the equilibrium is so bad and I feel as if I have no control.,

I really feel you need to push for anxiety medication.

I myself have a pre-existing anxiety disorder, had it 4/5 years before this started. Unfortunately when we get anxious it makes us feel dizzy when you turn your head or move about. It’s the mechanism of the anxiety and the fight or flight response.

I feel you will be so much better with some anxiety management, try some mindfulness too. It takes time to master but once you have you’ll be glad you persevered.

I’m 30 and have been battling this 2 years, I have a 10 year old daughter and feel like a complete failure as a parent as I can’t do very much with her. I currently can’t work as I’m not safe, depression has hit hard some days.

      Chin up lovely x

Jonese- I think your symptoms and mine are very similar.  I too don’t get the vertigo very often, but my equilibrium is terrible now (deteriorated since last December).  It makes me feel like I’m always on the verge of a vertigo attack.  Do you take diuretics to help manage your MD?

Mine says 250 also.  I took a half dropper today and it put me to sleep.  Lol.  I will try 10 drops tomorrow.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! It has not won. What treatments have you had and are you on any anxiety meds? Is it unilateral or bilateral..(one ear or both) where state r u in?

Bilateral in California.  No anxiety meds as the docs dont want to give the only  thing that helps me is xanax.  i DO NOT abuse it at all. Valium does not help me, I am really tired of the doctors they really know nothing and do not feel as if I need any help.
