Vertigo symptoms?

My GP recommended me this site because she diagnosed me with vertigo, so I wanted to see if other people have these symptoms as well.

It started for me at the beginning of March. It was just snap bang dizziness in front of the computer screen. Then it spread out to other things, and now that I'm taking meds (Prochlorperazine), the dizziness in my head is more or less gone.

However.

My body weirdly feels dizzy when my head doesn't? E.g. I'll move my hands and they move correctly, but I think they're going further than they really are or not far enough, and my arms just feel really awkward even though they move to my commands. I always (ALWAYS) have a falling feeling, like I'm about to sink or drop, but I don't. It got really bad once at the GP's, my back felt like it would snap forwards and I would go down, but I didn't. I still feel like I'm swerving when I walk, but I know loss of balance is pretty standard for vertigo. I've never had dizziness (it's a floaty, boat swaying dizziness) until now, and am really distressed by it because it's impeding on my work.

I don't drink alcohol/ coffee or smoke, but I do drink a lot of tea. I cut down my tea now, and am just drinking water (a bit boring).

Hello, fashions! I was wondering how you're doing with these unsettling symptoms. I discovered this while searching for reasons one might experience the strange sensations I've been having off and on.

It seems when it comes on all I have to do is turn my head/torso while seated or standing, and I'll momentarily feel trembly, and lightheaded. The trembling, shaky feeling is in my chest/throat, and the unsteady, floaty feeling is in my head. The room doesn't spin, but I get a hingeing sensation. I haven't lost balance or fallen, but it has happened on several different occasions/days while being seated, standing still, and walking.

I am a type one diabetic, and suffer from generalized anxiety, mild PTSD, and OCD, so I've examined blood glucose, blood pressure, anxiety levels, and even caffeine intake when this happens. Everything's at healthy levels each time I check, so narrowing possible causes has inspired googling!

In the past, before suffering these unsteadying symptoms, my GP observed that I had fluid trapped behind my middle or inner ear. I can't remember which, but am wondering if that could be the culprit. Symptoms are so random, though, so I'm completely unsure.

I hope you are well, and perhaps have helpful info/experiences to share.

Age really doesn't matter . I am 31 and had my first episode of Vertigo.

I rolled over on my bed , it woke me up straight away as it felt like there was something moving in my head . I've opened my eyes and everything was spinning .. the worse feeling ever . It's been 2 days since but still feel like I am on the boat when walking or sitting, I hope this will stop soon .

    Hope you all get well

I am also new to this site as have been very similar symptoms for 18 months.

It started April 2016 I woke up feeling a little weird, a bit shaky from inside out, fatigued and drained but just thought I was coming down with something. I went to work as normal, and out of the blue standing still, I went so dizzy. I had to hold on to something and sit down everything was spinning. It wore off after a few minutes and I thought I was ok. But I still felt weird, I couldn’t explain just out of sync as such and like my head was dizzy, rocky, off balance falling like feeling, but no room spinning. It continued all evening and just thought I’d be ok in the morning. I wasn’t. I wasn’t to the GP who advised I may be doing down with something viral so can take a while to settle, be patient. Anyway 18 months later my symptoms are still here. For some reason my symptoms worsen around my menstral cycle. I was a fit healthy 25 year old and this was so random. I’ve had MRI, physio and neurologist. Nothing helps. I have now been referred back to the neurologist for more investigation. All the MRI picked up was a cyst in one of my sinuses, and this was explained would not cause these symptoms. This has totally taken over my life, I can’t remember the last time I could just go out and drink with my friends. I have so much time off Work and I’m scared ill lose my job. I really feel for you as I know what your going through. Let’s hope one day there’s an answer.
