Hey I'm very worried .
I keep getting chest arm finger and neck rib ect pains (horrible) these started last week but worse this week finger pain is the worse so far so painful I went to doctors he checked my oxygen which was 90 I freaked out he said it could be my cold hand he asked me to keep taking deep breaths I took about 8 before it went up to 98 and kept dropping back to 94 ect .
He sent me to hospital to check for a blood clot hospital refused because my oxygen there was 96-98 and my heart rate was fast that's all they could see I have been having really bad breathlessness laterly just walking up stairs or around the corner I'm huffing and puffing I'm only slim so not over weight or anything I walk everywhere so not unfit I'm really worried I have a blood clot and been refused in the nurses words "the doctor won't check you for a clot because your in child bearing years and too young to have one " I'm 22 woth two children ! I know I could have one but they don't care to make it worse I have anxoety so it's now causing panic attacks and making the breathing problems worse

Doctor do you have? Sound useless. What do they know? I had a pe at 16 and my 2nd at 32 last October. They said that was young, but that's after my heart stopped and I was rushed to hospital.
Do you have any pains in either leg or chest? I had pain for 4 weeks and breathlessness which steadily got worse. Went to gp and suggested a clot 2 days before I collapsed. His checks said no clot so sent me away.
Then I spent 2 weeks in hospital with the docs suggesting cutting my chest open.fortunately this didn't happen.
Its imperative you put real pressure on your gp or even ring 111 and tell them and get an out of hours doc to see you.
Its a very tricky situation but you need to demand it. Remember its your life, not theirs!
As for the oxygen levels, mine were 98 too. So that's nothing to go by.
Maybe see another gp and go by your instincts...
Take care and let us know.
X

Sorry to hear you're not feeling too good.
I'd go back to the hospital and tell them it's continuing and you'd like a 2nd opinion.
Not to scare you as hopefully you are ok but all my results were ok but the blood test, chest X-ray and MRI scan showed multiple clots on my lungs in January. Mine were caused by a trigger- immobile after an op.
Hopefully it's something quite simple. Maybe they took other factors into account, like was there a trigger.
If you're worried then go back.
Good luck

I'm not a doctor or specialist etc. I'm sadly just a sufferer. I had Dvt in 2003 and was told I had poor circulation and go to the gym or wear support tights! I was 33 at the time...& said no chance but did go to the gym and carried on as normal except I did keep going back to the doctors as my leg was swelling and I'd had a bruise for weeks that wasn't going. Four visits to the doctors later and I was told if I still had the same feelings the following day go to A&E.
I did at 8pm the following night - by 8:30pm I'd been admitted. The whole of my left leg was clotted and where I'd been told to go to the gym , the clot had broken off to my lungs!
Unfortunately 12 years later and numerous long haul flights later I now have bilateral blood clots in the main pulmonary arteries of my lungs due to being immobile for 8 weeks after an op. The doctors gave me 3 weeks worth of heparin instead of 2 due to my history but in week 5 I started to have palpitations and was out of breath...
Unfortunately I can't offer any help but maybe just some support as a fellow suffer.

This time round I was referred to the ambulatory care unit rather than A&E - it's a unit set up to relieve A&E of patients that they think they know what might be wrong and ones they can possibly release. They thought I was going to have a blood test , find everything was ok and send me on my way as all my tests were fine... It was the blood test that showed mine.
I'd just keep going back to one of them if you're sure they're not doing what they should be doing.
Good luck

Can you ask your doctors do the blood test for you? Maybe try asking for an INR blood test. You'd need to phone the surgery, maybe ask for a phone call from a doctor?
Do you have a local walk in centre you could go to? Does your hospital have an ambulatory care unit? My doctor referred me to them & not A&E.
Hope they do the tests for you. But you do need to try and remain as calm as you can.
