You went to hell and back.  Not fun.

Yes, you spray baking soda water after weeing, every time.  Then dry off gently.  It prevents infection and sooths.  After that add some oil to keep things smooth.

I don't understand the swelling with the coconut oil.  Perhaps try another plant oil to see whether there is a different reaction.

It is indeed.  Wish you success with other oils.  Trial and error are part of the game here.  Careful observation is another important ingredient.

I'm sorry to hear you are in pain.  Take a deep breath, have a bath with epson salts, dry off gently and apply the cortisone cream.  Maybe keep it super simple since you may be applying the cortisone every day for the first few weeks.  Stress makes a huge difference to this condition so it's a good idea to take some time, rest, use heat or cold and take it easy.  It's a terrible condition and it makes me grumpy but it's feels better when I'm eating well and keeping the stressors down to a minimum.  Sorry.

Have you tried using good old fashioned Vaseline instead of coconut oil.? I don't know how much Dermovate cream you are using  - I was told to use a minute amount. gently massage in for about 30 seconds and apply Vaseline 30 mins later. Hope this may bring some relief.

I suffered with itching and soreness for 12 years thinking it was just old age then in February was referred to a gyni cos smear tests kept coming back with unclear results . As soon she saw it said I had LS and prescribed Dermovate and Hydromol which looks like goose fat very thick Vaseline  which you can wash with as goes soapy when wet and within a couple of days had complete relief was wonderful to sit and not feel I was on stinging nettles. Have kept up this routine using Dermovate now approx every 7-10 days and Hydromol every day to keep urine off my undercarriage and so far still ok. Wish you luck in finding what's works for you xx

Thanks holiday girl will ask for some of the suggestions from gyno man next visit. Glad you are feeling better stinging nettles good description I had prickly hedgehog for vaginal atrophy. How do you all know what's LS and what's menopause symptom?? Is the sore raw LS and the burning after weeing dry vagina urge to wee menopause ir all linked. ??

Ls is likely to be things linked to your skin and its condition.  Menopausal symptoms are likely to be urge to wee and dry vagina.  The Ls will be making your skin raw and you should be keeping this well treated and moisturised to prevent fusing with other raw areas.  I use an emollitent called Epaderm which is very like hydramol.  So soothing. slather it on and I use light incontinence pads to keep my underwear clean and change them regularly.  I make sure they are not highly scented.  Some on this site find them uncomfortable to use but I find they protect me from seams in my trousers and mean that everything is kept as clean as possible. I use a sitzbath with a pinch of bicarb of soda which neutralises the urine for washing.  It also sooths everything nicely.  Good luck.  Horrible condition but we can manage it if we are vigilant.

Liz do look at the Dr goldstein's lecture https://patient.info/forums/discuss/dr-goldstein-lecture-271556 It will explain a lot for you and answer questions yo didnt know you wanted answered.

Also check out the "new to LS" on the home page it will give lots of sensible advice

Use aqueous ointment it is a bland non stinging ointment that you can use to clean those important little places- It is essential to keep the area clean - and keep body fluids way from the skin. If necessary air dry your undercarriage - use the hairdryer on cool - or a fan

Dab not wipe If necessary pee into the bidet or bath water - then get out fast...!

As has been mentioned normal saline - ie the same amount of salt in the body is composed of- a teaspoon of salt to a pint of water was the old way of making up the solution. After child birth this was often suggested for soothing those horrid tears and stitches on the undercarriage and should not sting at all the Dr G 's lecture takes about an hour. I screen printed the slides so i could look at them at greater length afterwards

Take heart while the wretched disease /condition doesnt go away  the soreness will in time.

A pea sized amount of the Dermovate should be used on the sore places.

Do try and keep your mood as light as possible natural endorphins from fun and laughter will lessen the stress load in your body - as does exercise Stress is THE enemy of our undercarriages! (others will say sugar alcohol chocolate and other nice things are too....sigh)

PS  do look at your self with a mirror - a magnified one is ideal and a torch - some people take photos to show their doctors. It is a good idea to keep a record

When you noted what you ate and drank did you find a co relationship with the Nettle Rash and particular substances?

Do check out other threads  you will find a whole host of useful tips and an enormous amount of goodwill and wonderful kindness
