Vitamin D?

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hey

Iv started taking vitamin c and I can feel a slight difference.

A couple people have told me try vitamin D because the lack of UK sun and I was living in Ibiza for 3 months. So this could be true.

' winter blues '

Has anyone seen a difference from vitamin d? And what are the best pills?

Help appreciated smile

Some vitamins are, stored by the body.

For example Vitamin C is not stored but passed through the body naturally.

Other vitamins are stored in the body.

Please check you are only taking the recommended dosage.

Somone recommended to me I take vitamin D3 and I have been taking it for 3 days now.  I also take Omega 3, Vitamin B complex and multi vitamins and minerals.  I do notice a difference if I don't take them.  I stopped anti depressants last year.  I am also taking Kalms or there is one called Quiet Life which I have also taken.  Contains natural herbs.  All worth a try.  I did try St John's Wort and 5HTP but they did not seem to have any effect.  May give them a go again at some time.

Hello, I was on anti depressants for over 20 years.  If I stopped them the depression always returned, usually within a few months.  This is the longest I have been without, 16 months now.  I am coping well.  Have ups and downs, but feel I can manage without medication, fingers crossed.

I am taking herbal sleeping supplement now called Quiet Night.  It is helping.  I will continue taking all the supplements.  Have a book about nutrition for the mind, and there are quite a few supplements mentioned which I have not bought.  Are you back on anti depressants?  How are you feeling?

Not long had a aweful panick attack. I wasn't expecting that. I just couldn't stop twicthing, shaking crying didn't know what to do with myself, breathing went funny ect like I was gonna die. Downed some camomile tea and that calmed me down abit.

I'm 22 and lot my friends are out tonight living there life's ect and I'm stuck in lonely. I think that might reason why it caused this today.

Anyone have any advice? Went through same ect?

I start counselling Monday. All this is very new to me. X

I do hope the counselling helps.  My daughter is training to be a counsellor on top of her full time job and is finding it hard, but rewarding.  I think she is doing it because she has seen me very, very low with depression.

Let us know how you get on.  I have seen numerous counsellors and psychiatrists over the years.

That's really sweet of your daughter. Hats off to her smile

I hope it works for me. I did have counselling a couple years back when my parents split. But this now is to help my anxiety ( was only told I had it a couple weeks back so it's all very new to me )

Will keep you updated how it went.

Thanks for replying to me and chin up smile x

I am taking my supplements every day.  It could be a placebo effect, but if I believe they help then I like to think they do.  I take Kalms and pretend they are anti depressants, and that helps.  I don't want to go back onto anti depressants.

I never thought I would cope without medication as every time I stopped, over the 20 years I took them, depression returned.  This time 16 months since I stopped.  Took me 10 months to9 withdraw so I did not get withdrawal symptoms.  I am old and have been on anti depressants for ever, so I think your body tells you what you need.  I am trying hard, and so far managing well.  Ups and downs, but don't feel I need anti depressants.  I will continue with vitamin D now and the others I take.

Take care and hope counselling goes well.

Try camomile tea. smile that's also good. I put two sugars in it if you don't like the taste.

Felt panicky this morning. Think it's because counselling is today.

      Good luck.

      And thank you
