Vitamin D deficiency success stories

I am in the midst of this deficiency trying to recover from the horrible symptoms that it can cause. I want to hear from people who have overcome this deficiency and how they did it. If there was adverse affects of long term use of vitamin d supplements.
How long did it take to make a full recovery and any hurdles you ran into along the way.
I am just in need of encouragement right now from this deficiency. It has stopped me in my tracks and life just stopped for me. Being frozen in time while everyone continues on with their life while I suffer and wrestle with the symptoms.
Dealing with doctors who are not knowledgeable with this deficiency can be very frustrating.
Please share your story so I know after the storm comes a rainbow. Your stories will bring encouragement and hope not only to me but for everyone out there searching for answers on vitamin d deficiency.
Thank you and God bless!

I think its hard to tell if someone is deficient on certain vitamins. The good news is its good to nip it in the bud early.

Did you Google if the fda has changed something in our foods we eat? I'm almost sure, I read that they are regulating vitamins. I also read something about scurvy and other diseases you can end up with. This is just horrible. I hurt all the time and I don't know why I'm feeling this way. Hope you all get well.

hello. i can relate to your story. i hope you got better by now.
i've felt fatigue with usual activities and brain fog for a relatively long time. back pain, numbness in my hand and feet, heavy feet.
vitamin d was 11ng/ml. i started 2000 ui daily. but i have never tolerated it well...
so i took it with some iron and multivitamins. my calcium levels and magnesium were normal at the beginning of the treatment which was a week ago.
i had low iron though.
now i can't sleep, feeling restless, agitated through the day, my hands are prickly, my mouth is dry, and my cervical spine hurts. these symptoms started with the treatment.
i don't know what to do. i would like to correct the deficit.
i ordered some magnesium, i don't know if taking them together will help.

I have longstanding vitamin D deficiency/insufficiency and have been through all types of tests only too look like a hypochondriac. I've been suffering for at least 10 years. Just last week I had my levels tested and went from 24 in March of this year to 26!! I've been taking 2,000 IU daily for the last 8 months and nothing has happened with my levels, but my symptoms of fatigue, dizziness, pain, etc have not subsided. I researched my symptoms over the years and it took this latest test for things to click. Longstanding vitamin D deficiency can cause you to experience the symptoms of secondary hyperparathyroidism!! There is no tumor on your parathyroid glands or high blood calcium in secondary hyperparathyroidism. It is treated with D3 analogs such as calcifediol. Primary hyperparathyroidism is due to high levels of blood calcium and high parathyroid levels. Please research the difference between these two causes of hyperparathyroidism as the treatment is very different for each type. I'm working with my doctor now to see if this on fact what's happening with me due to my deficiency.
