4am awake with thumping heart, anxiety starting all over again - this is all so horrible and all I want is to feel happy and enjoy life like all you other lovely ladies do aswell. Not getting easier. Hoping you are all in peaceful slumber unlike me x 😥

Hi Lou, yes I was the same as you. Up awake every night at 4am. I went onto HRT bio identical gels - they've worked for me. If you can't do HRT the ladies on here have lots of great suggestions. You could try a homeopathic doctor ?
I know I was so desperate for a solution. I went privately as nhs just keep giving you different HRT tabs which weren't good for me. All the best, let us know how your getting along xx

Thats terrible for you Jamie. a good nights sleep can really make us feel better, you must feel terrible if you have this continually. have you ever thought of trying a very low dose tranquiliser to help you sleep through unbroken? i occasionally take half a 1mg lorazapem tablet when needed - it just turns off your think tank/overactive mind if you take it 20mins before bedtime, & doesnt leave you groggy in the morning & no side effects with such a low dose. my doc recommended it few years ago as opposed to a sleeping tablet as if taken in a low dose doesn't leave you groggy next day, & also because my sleep problems were anxiety related - just couldnt switch off when my head hit the pillow. xx

I just talked with my doctor and she didn't want me on sleeping pills either. She suggested getting some melatonin. I will try it out and see if it helps. I never seem to get more than three hours sleep.

Hi Stephanie, know what you mean about planning things it's very difficult as we can never tell how we will be feeling. Im sure HRT will make you feel much better and you will have some much better days ahead and nights. It works wonders for so many women . Good luck ??

Cortisol inhibitor worked like magic for me.
You need to talk to your doctor and get it under control. The problem is that the heart palpitations freak you out and then anxiety sets in, which is a self perpetuating downward spiral. I got to the point where I was so scared to go to sleep, that I stopped sleeping. That's when I took my doctors advice and stared the AD, she knew what she was doing.

Hi becky, how are you ?
Well I went for some blood tests the other week and my GP said I didn't need to take any supplements as you should get everything you need from your diet and in this country it's highly unlikely that we are deficient !!!! So ive stopped taking everything - honestly sometimes you don't know what to do for the best do you. I still take cod liver oil and Feraglobin but nothing else now. I was also taking glucosamine and he said not to bother with them either so stopped them too ! What do you do, I think if something makes you feel better then that has to be a good thing . What do you take ?

Hi Lou, Im doing ok. This whole peri thing gets quite confusing. I just take Vitamin D because I was on the low side per bloodwork. I know that everyone from about a year ago talked about vitamin b6. Im not one to usually take anything but because of how I feel some days I want to try anything. Ugh! I hope that you are having a good day...thank you for the response

Yes becky it's anything that makes us feel better. Think, we have to use our own judgement. Plus my doctor is a man so what does he know about being in menopause anyway ! X
