    Hi Christina

As you will have seen there is some good advice on here. True, some ask/phone for a copy of the Assessor`s report before receiving the decision from the DWP Decision Maker (DM), others wait until they receive the decision. Either way, it is important to get a copy. Then check everything the assessor has written. Note anything he says which you believe to be untrue or was incorrectly reported, and anything which has been left out. Compare what the assessor wrote with what the DM writes. IF DWP tell you that your are not awarded PIP, ask for the MR. Put together any supporting evidence you have. I know all this might sound daunting but please believe that many people have been or are going through the same. This may be cold comfort but there are good people on here who are willing and able to offer advice, just ask and I`m confident that contributors will help you.

Good luck and try to stay strong.

Thank you for your kind comment.

I dont want to add to any worries, but dont be surprised if there is a delay in you receiving either/both the Assessor`s Report and/or the DWP DM reply. I was very fortunate and got the Assessor`s Report within a week, the DWP DM`s report took weeks (as pointed out this can vary from a few weeks to much longer).

Good luck with the phone call.

I agree with Belgravia, I`d wait (This is what I did) but others may argue it is better to request the assessor`s report before receiving the decision, given that it may take a while for the decision to arrive and you only have 28 days from the date of the decision (not when it arrives) to put in for the decision to be reconsidered - this means that if you wait for the decision then you may have only three weeks to get the assessor`s report, check it against the decision maker`s comments, and get the request for reconsideration back to DWP. It is not an easy choice but should be your own personal choice. Whatever you decide, please dont hesitate to ask anyone on here if you have any concerns about the assessor`s report and/or the comments made by the decision maker.

      Good luck

      Thanks Christina for the update.

This could mean (and this is only my guess, so might not be 100% correct) that the Case Manager is waiting for the Assessor`s Report.

I`m afraid its now another case of patience and waiting to hear.

      Good luck.

The case manager is the same as a Decision Maker just worded differently, so they most likely have the assessment report and waiting to make a decision. Hopefully you won't be waiting much longer.

Sometimes they can make a decision in a couple of weeks although where there is a backlog it can take weeks longer.
