Warm sensation inside leg but not hot to touch

I have severe health anxiety and have been experiencing every symptom for the past 4 months. Recently I have developed a new sensation which of course sent me into a panic all over again. I am getting a warm sensation on the outer side of my left knee but it's not hot to touch. It feels like a hot cup of coffee was put against it or I rubbed Bengay on it. It only lasts for a few seconds and then goes and comes again off and on throughout the day. It's just a spot about the size of a ball that feels internally warm. Does anyone else experience this. I googled and now I am in a panic thinking it's a serious neurological disease. Please help

Hi everyone! Curious if any of you ever went to a doctor and got an answer about this? I've had this same thing for several months now. It is in my upper left leg near my thigh. I had a fibroid tumor removed in June and a partial hysterectomy at the same time. They took everything but my ovaries. It seems I noticed this warm sensation not long after that. It is not hot to the touch. I've never had issues with anxiety and I don't have varicose veins. I wondered if it could have been due to nerve damage from where I was cut open for my surgery but that's just a wild guess. I'm debating on rather or not to bring this up to my doc next week when I go in for a checkup. I may as well I figure and see what she has to say. If anyone has any further input on this is greatly appreciate some replies!!

My doctor told me that it is nerve damage that is causing the warm spots. I don't know about you all but other than the warm spots, I used to get freakish pains, phantom like, all over my body. My doctor said it was anxiety manifesting into physical pain. It was the weirdest feelings to have. Out of nowhere, it would feel like someone was squeezing my arm, or like I got hit in the shin with a ball pein hammer, or sometimes it felt like someone was pushing their finger into my eye. It was strange. I started on Lexapro and it stopped all of that. Now I'm hooked on Lexapro and will get really sick if I try to quit. Anyway, I really thought it was paranormal. I don't know what to think anymore, I'll just put it in God's hands. Good luck to everyone.

Side note: I do have anxiety issues but they’re not nearly as severe as they were 3 years ago so I don’t see the correlation in the symptomology of the leg issue with anxiety. But, from experience, anxiety can definitely make you have feelings and sensations that make you think you’ve got a new scary disease! Hope this helps y’all!

Hello Soanxious, I am experiencing the same warm sensation on the upper part of my left thigh. I don't have anxiety attacks or worry about my health too much but I was in a serious car accident 3 months ago. Has anyone gotten any medical advice of what this warm sensation is?

Just started with me. Same sensation of outer left mid-thigh having hot flashes inside it. I now see and remember I had bumped into something--see a fading bruise there. Looked up symptom in google search. Here's just one of the entries:
Meralgia Paresthetica: Pain, Burning, and Numbness in the Outer Thighhttps://www.webmd.com/diabetes/guide/meralgia-parestheticaSep 4, 2016 - Meralgia paresthetica is a condition that causes numbness, pain, or a burning feeling in your outer thigh. You might also hear it called Bernhardt-Roth syndrome. It happens when there's too much pressure on or damage to one of the nerves in your leg.
?What Is Meralgia Paresthetica? · ?Causes
Read about the causes. Pinched nerve, compressed nerve, obesity (I have gained thirty pounds), running into something...all stuff benign except CAN be a symptom of diabetes. And like others here, my "hot spot" is not at all to the touch. I at first thought I had phlebitis. Then considered a deep vein thrombosis (could be lurking in the fat enshrouding my thigh). Then saw that surface thing. However, having said that, I once when considerably younger and more generally healthy, had the on and off sensation of hot coffee spilled on one foot, just the end part around the toes. Lasted quite a time. I thought I had peripheral neuropathy. Dr. found nothing wrong. I decided not to go right now to a doctor. But I'm certainly not one and would advise anybody in dubt to get peace of mind even if it's just the quick clinic at CVS or urgent care.
Speaking of which, I had an ache in my neck near carotid artery for six months. Sort of like a tooth ache extending from my outer jaw down my neck.
I finally was seen at CVS. Due to my smoking history, they wanted me to see my dentist as they spotted what they thought was a bit of a swelling in my inner cheek on that side, go my doctor etc. But they said they would try one thing--removing wax from my ears. Took awhile. Some people it seems get more of a build up and I might have pushed the tiny little ugly boo that came out deeper in my ear with a q-tip.
Instant relief and no return.
Although we must all be aware of changes in our body, those are often as not not cancer, blood clots, brain tumors. Still in all, if I had just had surgery, been on a plane ride, had any history of clots, had diabetes in my family..I'd be on the move. Hope some of you will get back. And if you are not satisfied with your doctor's response and your symptoms are not going away, by all means do not take her word for it that it's nothing. I definitely will practice what I preach. There are cases of intractable symptoms people live with a long time, compensate for, down oodles of pepto dismal for, accommodate to , accept their doctor's dismissal of that do, indeed, turn out to have needed a thorough investigation of. JMO. And yes I am prone to the sciatica thingy.

I too have been experiencing the same hot spot feeling. My right thigh for my case, the feeling is so weird that one can get worried, thought my nerves had been damaged. This time I woke up only for the same feeling same thigh.
Googled and knowing that you are not alone is healing in it's own self, the specialists and tests that have been carried out by fellow Soanxious leaves me asking. Is this condition life threatening or an symptom of the unknown.
