Warm sensation inside leg but not hot to touch

Posted , 99 users are following.

I have severe health anxiety and have been experiencing every symptom for the past 4 months. Recently I have developed a new sensation which of course sent me into a panic all over again. I am getting a warm sensation on the outer side of my left knee but it's not hot to touch. It feels like a hot cup of coffee was put against it or I rubbed Bengay on it. It only lasts for a few seconds and then goes and comes again off and on throughout the day. It's just a spot about the size of a ball that feels internally warm. Does anyone else experience this. I googled and now I am in a panic thinking it's a serious neurological disease. Please help sad

Note: I am not a doctor, so please consult your physician before taking any advice.

I'm not sure but in many siituations we worry over "situations" that modern medicine would regard as serious that holisitic medicine can fix quickly.

    If this were me:

If you have no symptoms besides this and if it's warm, i would put a cold compress on it. It sounds like its a lack of blood circulation in the area. MIx a combination of olive and peanut oil (Providing you’re not allergic to it)

    into the affected area.

Get an x-ray or an mri in the area ok the affected area to eliminate any other possibilities.

    Hope this helps!

Do you have any lower back or hip issues on the same side?

yes I tend to get sciatic discomfort or tenderness, was worse 8 years ago when I was pregnant and then completely dissapeared with chiropractic cause I think that leg is shorter by a fraction by the chiropractor. what has made it better is yoga whichb do daily and strengthen training which i do for all muscles twice a week plus cardio. your question is interesting as you are correct about the additional symptoms, staying fit has been my remedy to going back to sciatica and chiropractic care haven't needed it in 8 years

      Hi Kim,

A short leg could cause that. Not so much the amount of exercise but stretching and using a balance mat would help. Some people have that side "lockup" due to sublaxations in the sacral, pelvic area which would affect leg length and cause the strange sensation. Leg would not be actually short, but stuck.

A good osteopath does osteopathic adjustments could diagnose it pretty quickly. They are difficult to find, but there are still some out there.

      Hope this helps!

    Hi everyone

I have been having this since I was diagnosed with covid - but even though I have tested negative with covid these symptoms still lingering 😦

its random areas of warm patches like someone is shining a warm light or near a heater - it's not painful but just makes me worried as I don't know what it us - it lasts few seconds then goes away and happens in all parts of my body even my face at any time of the day.

if anyone has any further information on this please let me know-my gp was useless I told them this and they said oh not sure what it could be ....ok have a good day!

I do have private but I don't want to use it unless necessary if anyone has had this symptom please let me know what it could be...googling has scared me more it says could be MS!

I also get this hot or warm spots on random spots on different parts of body, very recent was few minutes back.

In my case I get hot as well as wet or cool sensation. I get these sensations when I think of it or expect it. I often get those Hot sensations when I touch something hot from my hand and consciously I am expecting to get the hot sensation.

Researchers are searching on this phenomenon of thermal sensations on body, neurological and physiological reasons a recent research paper is published on this topic,if you want u can search for Neurophysiology of Skin Thermal Sensations.

Hmm, I am in the same boat with many of you...warm/hot sensation in lower right shin, comes and goes. I do have slight vitamin D deficiency (just below normal range). I am usually a happy person, no anxiety. I was wondering if it's because I sit a lot for work (computer) and I sure hope it's not the dreaded DVT! (one of the first search results if you google this, argh).

I'm waffling over whether it's worth going to the doctor over this or not!

I've had this on and off for years, but today I had the "hot shin" thing almost all day, and skin does feel hottish (compared to other leg) when I put my palm on it. Generally I'm healthy, no conditions (bit of anemia) and in my 50s. hmm.

If I find out anything, I'll post!
