Just be careful doing it especially the first 6 weeks.  Perhaps someone could help you the first few times and get a view of how far bent you would be so as not to break the 90 degree rule!!!  lol

I washed my hair over kitchen sink when I was able, sitting on my perching chair, however I managed to throw a lot of water over the floor when i was rinsing, so then had to put a towel in the floor to soak it all up, was so nice when I could wash it in the shower.

If you look on Amazon you can buy caps, like shower caps that contain shampoo, you pop them in the microwave, put them on and massage your scalp.  I've not tried them but I will be getting some before my op.

Others on here have recommended them!

    Good luck

on Amazon disposable shower caps for washing hair - you heat them in the microwave for 20 seconds, put on your head, massage through the cap, remove the cap and your hair is washed and ready to style

I washed mine over the sink in the bathroom and stood on a towel / bath mat to soak up any water spills

My hubby washed mine over the kitchen sink. Was ok and not as messy as I thought it would be.

Have yòu got someone who would do that for you?

I've not heard of these cap things from Amazon but might look into it for one I get my right hip done. They sound just the ticket. 😊

They are very effective. Although I had a waterproof dressing didn't feel ready to stand in the shower for the first few days so used these and strip washes.

Hi, I have a shower over the bath so brought it as low as it would go and then I didn't have to bend too far which worked for me. Hope this helps. Valerie

I'll have to try the shampo caps but I also bought 'dry' shampoo.

It comes in a spray can and helps to revive your hair. My problem is I have plates in my neck so I can't bend my head that far over and secondly, I have the type of hair that is super fine and bone straight. So, it sticks straight up after I sleep on it and it won't comb out.

I guess I'll have to try washing it using wash cloths to rub shampoo into my hair then maybe use rinsed wash cloths to get the soap out..

Dry shampoo is ok to use occasionally but it is not that good for the hair, the caps come in a pack of 3,I only had to use 2before I could wash my hair properly and no rinsing is needed.it combines shampoo ,conditioning and rinsing-no idea how but I really recommend them x
