Wearing panty liners?

Posted , 8 users are following.

I've read that wearing panty liners is the wrong thing to do. However, I use Hydromol every time I go to the loo and, if I didn't wear any protection, my clothes and anything I sat upon would be marked. I have tried to go without, but finished up staining my sofa! What do others think and how do you manage using ointments etc?

Hi Cheetah, yes I have the same problem. I use castor oil with essential oils which I feel helps me keep myself moisturised and acts as a barrier too.

I do wear liners for the same reason as you and always buy cotton ones. I couldn't go around with any confidence otherwise. I suppose we have to do what we are most comfortable with. Cheers

Thanks for your reply, Cleo. I was really interested in your use of castor oils with essential oils. Do you buy the castor oil as a carrier oil, then add your own essential oils to it? The Hydromol ointment I use does the job, but I like the idea of using essential oils.

Hi Cheetah, yes I use good quality castor oil as a carrier. I also combine it with lavender essential oil and frankincense essential oil.

      10ml castor oil

      two drops lavender oil

      two drops frankincense oil

It makes me feel very comfortable and "protected".

I make no claims for it's efficacy, it just feels - and smells - really nice. The one positive in my LS journey so far!

Thank you so much, Cleo, that is very helpful. We have a new shop in our village which is a 'witchery' - crystals, healing stones etc. and also essential oils, so I think I'll be making a purchase!

PS I've repeated this as it didn't seem to have attached to your post as a 'reply'.

While my doctor recommended not to use them, I do. There is no way that. I can "not" where them. In addition to LS, I have stage 1 Congestive heart failure. I take lasic every day and have to pee a lot. Sometimes the urge comes so quick that I might leak a little before I make it to the rest room. I keep myself clean and change the pads frequently. Using pads has not aggravated my condition.

Thank you Angela, I can understand how difficult that must be for you. It's very interesting that the pads have made no difference to the LS. Take care.

Thank you. I'm one of the fortunate ones. My condition is not as serious as a lot of women on this forum. I also feel blessed to have found a specialist, here in St.Louis. I have my 6 month follow-up, this Wednesday and hope to get the same news, as last time; I'm not getting any worse and she even saw some slight improvement during my last visit.
