Weight loss after surgery
Posted , 29 users are following.
I have just recently been diagnosed and they are almost positive that its a tumor in my pituitary gland but an MRI will confirm or deny. I'm curious about anyone's weight loss experiences after the removal of the tumor? That has been the hardest thing for me to deal with truthfully.

Do not think that you will be this way forever, that is not true at all. I had it really bad and it took them too long to diagnosed me. They caught yours earlier. If you follow the drs advice and give yourself time to heal..in 6 months to a year your body will change back to you naturally. You will again go out, drive, ride your horse..etc..I started getting sick at age 31, I had surgery at age 38 close to death. I have endured my call bladder removed, 5 hernia surgeries, a accidentally punctured lung, kidney stones 8 times, i had one kidney removed and they ripped open my bowel, that caused a severe hernia, I've had 17 hand surgeries and the 2 brain surgeries. I have upcoming hand surgery next month and they just found a tumor on my only kidney. So see...I'm still driving my car, im now 66 years old, im a graphic artist, a digital illustrator, web designer and i still draw. So im trying to show you im a survivor.
Your Cushings you will heal fast and do really good with weight loss and getting back to normal If you just do what the drs say. And no diet...balanced meals..1200 calories a day.

We care about you. You will do just fine in surgery, please know that your surgical team know exactly how to treat you. They will be supportive, make ypu comfortable, ease ypur fears and this surgery to me is a pretty easy one as I've endured it twice and if i compare it to every thing else I've had to go through, it's the easiest. Ask your dr questions, if you have fears voice them to your Dr and let him explain so you won't be so apprehensive. If you have any more questions to ask any of us feel free to ask.

Yeah, you are right. They are discharging me today. They want me to stay on 25 mg per day starting Sunday but before that day the dosage is higher. I think they do it slowly. I feel terrible is it withdrawal from cortisol?? So week. They say it's safe to stay with this dosage. But I feel worse than before surgery

Hello Vicky. Do you think it's normal to feel this week on the third day of surgery? I barely can walk. Is it cortisol withdrawal? They lowering dose every day. I'm afraid to go to crisis

Poor you. Your surgeon should have told you that 48 hours after surgery you will feel worse than you have ever felt. My surgeon told me but I didn't really appreciate it till the 2nd/3rd day. Felt truly awful. Yes it is the Cortisol withdrawal. It will take a little time for your body to recover after the sudden withdrawal of the excess Cortisol. If you have any worries ask your Endo ! I really hope you will be feeling better soon.
