Weird Dull Pains (Upper Right Abdomenon)

Hi, just wondering for some professional opinion regarding my situation. I have dull gnawing pains sometimes at night and during the day somewhere under my right rib(hard to say exactly where) which radiates to the back and causes some burning sensation. This is usually accompanied by slight nausea, bloating and constipation. I went to see a doctor about 3 times now and all my blood tests check out ok so far (liver, pancreas, WBC etc..). I also don't have H. Pylori. They have scheduled ultrasound in a couple of weeks. I am wondering what this can be -an ulcer(doctor said pains are much stronger with an ulcer), issues with my pancreas(lipase count was good), gallblader(bilirubin count was also normal)? Can this be caused by slowly inflamed appendix or something in my colon? Cancer?

I am male - 32 years old.

    Hi, what your getting is very common and linked to ulcers and gallblader.  If you read on here you will see that many of us have had this and no cause can be found at all.  I used to have this for around 10 months at a time and then nothing for years and then bang back again.  I now have a very bad case with other problems too and have all the tests including cat scan even together with en/scope and ultra (again) but nothing so first, dont panic. Have you blood in your poo or reflux?  To be honest you may have reflux which as burnt your oesophagus, that gives you this, dont tell me how the pain gets under your ribs but it does, I know this, The Ultra sound would pick up GB probs.  Do you drink???  Many on here link this to fatty livers??? Which again the US will pick up, ask them.  Like I said, so very common and no reasons can be found

      Hi dave56290, Thank you for that, yes I have had the burning pain just under my left ribs for a few months now. Like I said I've had bloods done two abdominal scans one CT scan and colonoscopy! Is there anything you take to ease the annoying pain? I only drink on social occasion the last time being August! I have noticed it has eased a bit this week so hopefully I'm on a break from it! Sorry you are in pain at the moment.

      Hi Mandy. Hope your on the mend now, thats how it was with me, just comes and goes but got worse as I get older!!!!   I just take omeprazole 20 mg first thing in the morning on an empty stomach (I know it says you can take with food but over the years I've found it does work best on a empty tum), which helps with the reflux and then take good old Gaviscon at night which really works.  If I take 40mg I get more pain and constipation!!!!!!  I find that when the pain starts to go I have to ween off the meds slowly or after 10 months or more on Omep I get really bad acid has my stomach trys to adjust.  One thing I must say is when I was on Lansoprazole 30 mg​ I was in terrible pain, it about killed me.  So even though Lan and Omp are clased as the same PPI they have different side effects.  The problem is relux can damage you with little signs until you get pain (not saying it is reflux with you but please dont rule out simple reflux/acid which in turn brings on gastritis has it burns you.  Oh, apple juice and apples helps me?????  Good luck
