Well bugger... :-(

As positive as I can be, now I'm slightly peeved at the fact that again my op was moved sad

Second hip, and again not going to happen on the planned date. Now I'm planned for Monday the 7th, be there at 7.00 AM....

so, instead of two days of work, it'll be two weeks and a pop around the pharmacy for more paracetamol and ibuprofen in the meantime.

*sigh*

How awful! I suppose they must have good reasons for cancelling ops but no thought for how much it inconveniences people. Hope you go ok on 7th.

      Fingers crossed alright!

At least this time they had the decency to call me well beforehand instead of letting me sit there waiting in a open-back gown for 7(!) hours..

Well big yin, Im sure you cultivated plenty patience after first THR so keep it up. The 7th is not too far away and I promise you lovely September weather for your recovery.rolleyes

      Here's hoping alright!

I'm now already screwed out of a weekend in the Ardennes that was planned a while ago and I won't be able to go, least of all it could be some nice pre-autumnal weather.. sad

    Hi am6ft,

I had a similar problem, although not cancelled but a total cock up in the booking office they forgot to put my nme in the list, I compained to the hospital CEO, within an hour of them recieving my email, I was called and booked in for the following monday, so my advice... don't be fobbed off, ask hy it's been cancelled yet again, if you don't get satisfaction, go to the top, you will get a result, all the best to you,

    Love,

    Lynne x

Well, I did ask when they called and apparently several people have decided to drop over on their hips and being old enough to not be strong, they ended up breaking them. Add to that some traffic accidents and whahey, hello backlogging.

I can nderstand that people with broken hips have a lsightly higher urgency, but still.. It ticks me off.

This is so disappointing, I understand how you feel, for me on my first hip op, I was cancelled twice on the day and it was eventually third time lucky.  Now I am 3 weeks in recovery tomorrow.

Fingers crossed that it goes ahead for you this time,

    Cate
