Ive scrubbed head to toe with the pink gloop, and Im sat with my high carb drink, willing the clock to move on a little quicker.....9 hours till Im admitted to the Ward.....cant see me sleeping much, im blooming wide awake...rolleyes

Ill try and pop on before the main event tomorrow, but if I dont manage to, I just want to say a huge Thank You to everyone on here who has supported, advised and commented on my journey thus far.

Tomorrow starts a whole brand new chapter, and in a strange way Im looking forward to it. Not the pain, sleeplessness, emotional mess etc, but at the moment every step I take is painful - after tomorrow it will still be painful, but every step I take will be a step closer to regaining my strength and independance.

I wish you all a warm, safe, pain-free night.

Catch you later

Terri xx

All the very best, Terri. I thought I wouldn't sleep the night before, but they gave me something to relax me, and before I knew it, it was 5.30am and the nurse was telling me to get up and have my next shower, From then on, everything moved so fast, that 4 weeks on, I can barely remember it. I did wear earplugs most nights, and they helped a lot. From my experience, the pain was nowhere near as bad as I expected.

Sweet dreams, Terri, I'll be thinking of you.

Good luck, it is so worth it,

    I have a friend who's 8days post op

And when I saw her today it's seemed so long ago that I was at her stage.

I'm coming up to 4months and I was able to walk to visit her today. The only problem I had was from the other knee that needs done which I hope to soon be on the waiting list for.

Hope you get a bit of sleep.

All the best look forward to reading ur post op posts

Good luck my friend. You will be fine, take it all one day at a time and remember if at first you don't succeed (give up lol ) try gain after a rest. The only thing I had not thought off is"..... Making sure you start making your way to the toilet before you really want to go as the whole process takes a lot longer as I found out at my expense. I will be thinking of you for the next few days till you let us all know how your journey is. I am 8 days and thought I wasn't making much progress till I did my excercises tonight and hubby was really pleased as my Bend has improved. My lift is still nothing but hey can not do all at once. Anyway good luck speak soon xx

Good luck for your surgery, although you will probably sail through it.  I had to be up at 4.30am on the day of my Op. and be at the hospital for 6am.  The between 6am and 7.30am was the worst, just packing all my things away in my room.  Once I went down to the pre op room, I was so busy, I didn't have time to be scared.  Everything went well, I had no pain and no discomfort, and slept like a top.  It really wasn't that bad at all and it was wonderful to be able to walk without pain.  14 weeks now, and fighting fit, my only advice is rest and exercises, and you will soon be well on the road to recovery.
