What always triggers your LS symptoms?

Most of us that post on here know that Sugar is the main problem for LS.

That being said there are other triggers and I thought it would be interesting for people to say and share what causes a flare up for them from time to time.

I have a lot of food intolerances/allergies.  The other day I ate an ice cream lolly for a treat and the next day my backside was itchy, but worse my clitoris was hurting.  On closer examination, I discovered that Guar Gum was in the lolly which I'm allergic to.  Fortunately for me, I used the Clob cream for a couple of days and I am fine now...but that's how quickly I react.

On another occasion, I was trying some different Meds for another health issue and I had an allergic reaction to it which resulted in a breakout of ulcers in my mouth and on and around my Vjay.  Fortunately, I was ok after a couple of days.

On a day to day basis I am fine, only when I eat something that my body is not happy with will I get some LS symptoms.

As you know I am brand new to this, only diagnosed 10 days ago, but I did notice symptoms were worse when I had my Dave’s organic superbread with chunky peanut butter- Have cut both of them out! And red wine was making peeing very painful so that is gone for now too. Will update you if I have any further reactions to food, trying the low oxalate, no carb, no dugar route now.

Karen, I make my own bread, but I am super sensitive to everything!! sometimes keeping a food diary helps to pinpoint triggers.  I am gluten, lactose, salicylate, histamine intolerant, and for a while I watched out for oxalates too, so yeah let us know how you get on.

I had to keep a food diary for a year, as I was in a bad way last year..I wasnt sure I was going to recover as I was only able to eat eight individual foods and drink water.

Remember to only exclude one food at a time otherwise you wont know which of the foods is causing you problems.

Thx Guppy, I am trying to limit myself and see how I react yo tjings. I hv one cup of coffee in the morning ( survival), but then water for the rest of the day. No more red wine🍷 on my vacation??

But good news is Eumaidmaxx has made pain go from 12 to 1 and itching from 10-1. Of cpurse I got my period yesterday, so now have to deal with that while applying all these creams- what a mess! Also ordered Perrins Cream Blend and am going to try Eumaid regular strength as the Maxx seems very strong!

Will keep in touch with food journal!
