What are some good questions to ask my Uro Doc.?

Hello again everyone.  This last week I have put some concerns out there in regards to Urolift that's not doing anything and it was only 9 months ago with 5 devices, urine retention, lower back pain, etc.

I have an appt on Friday the 22nd (2 days out) and I am putting my feelers out there for some good questions I should ask him.

Re: X-rays to see my implants, creatine levels, current size of prostate,  other options avail. ??    And I know some of you have been through hell and back.  I learned along time ago that wisdom is only good if you use it!

Don't know if this helps anyone.  I'm 71yo and had Urolift 9 months ago.  I've been most pleased.  Pee and ejaculate like a teenager again.  Gradually been getting more and more sleep to where now getting up only once a night to pee is common.  Get three or four deep hours on each side of it.  My main point is that it seems to get better every day - at least for me.  My only warning is everyone assured me that insurance (Blue Cross, Medicare, and Medicare supplemental in the U.S.) paid....wrong!  The Urolift attorneys are appealing to the insurance companies - or something...no way I can pay for it...they wanted over $18K.

River I live in orlando and I am on Wellcare.  Had the urolift done in april of 2015.  All I paid was $200 for the surgery center the day of the procedure. Sorry your having a problem.  My insurance approved it 4 weeks before I had it done  Take care  Ken

Riverkilt,  Good to read, and congratulations!  Except, of course, for the payment part...  There were a couple of holdouts on the Medicare roster who weren't paying until later last year.  I waited until December to get my Urolift done, by which time I was covered (Urolift done in Salt Lake, but I live in PA.)   I think I paid around $700 or so, out of pocket.  Plus air fare, of course.  Your procedure ought to be covered by Medicare, no?
