What could be causing my dizzy spells

I am messaging because I need help!
For the past few years I have been suffering with dizzy spells, but It only happens when I am in a car, driving in a straight line, it feels like everything is moving a lot faster that it is and I can't focus on anything!
My blood pressure if fine!
I have been to a neurologist and had a MRI scan, conclusion was, everything was fine.
I was then sent to audiology that ran every test in the book, they told me my ears are ok
I went to my opticians who ran a peripheral vision test about 5 time and said everything was fine!
My GP said there is nothing else that can be done!
If I am not able to get in a car soon I am going to lose my job!
Can you please help?
Have you ever heard of anything even similar to this or have any advise of what I can do?
Thanks

Turns out mine was a problem with my Vestibulo–ocular reflex. I went to every doctor there was. My ENT finally sent me to Balance 360 here in Austin. They figured it out in less than 5 minutes. No one is sure how it happened because there are a number of different causes and infections.
No medicine, just PT. I pick a spot 2 feet in front of me and move my head side to side 10 times and up and down 10 times with my eyes focused on that one spot. You do it several times a day, starting slow and speeding up throughout the day.
But, that's just me. Since it happened to me, I heard of more and more people dealing with dizziness. That too has helped the anxiety. Still paying for the ER visit from that one terrifying night when it first started happening.

Same here. I'm fine in the passenger's seat.

Medical bills still have my head spinning, but my condition comes and goes. I guess it did help because I can drive long distances now. 10 months ago, I couldn't drive over 40 MPH. These days, my limit is 80 MPH. Our toll roads here in Austin have an 85 MPH speed limit, so at 80, I have to stay on the slow lane.

See an acupuncturist. Tell him/her to use the following points:
DO 20
YINTANG
LARGE INTESTINE 4
LIVER 3
DO16
GB 20
BL 10.
These are the main points. An acupuncturist will know how to add the other points that are suitable for each patient's condition.
Usually patient can recover after one treatment.

Wanted to let you all know that my dizziness turned out to be caused by new medications I had never taken before, Losartan and Metoprolol. They are both blood pressure meds. My cardiologist told me to start taking them in the evenings and that way any dizziness would be pretty much gone before morning, and that is exactly what has happened. I was unable and too scared to drive for seven weeks, but tried driving short distances and increasing the distance until I was confident enough to drive again. I can't tell you how relieved I am to be able to drive again and not be dependent on friends and neighbors (I live alone with no family in the area). I hope all of you with these symptoms will also find answers and solutions.

Hi Jennifer. I also take both meds and have since a heart attack in 2008. My bad vertigo and dizziness started a year ago. Lots of tests no answers. I'll try taking meds at night. Your BP doesn't go up in afternoon?

Susan, I think you must be responding to my message, rather than Jennifer's. My bp is up and down but generally the top number is somewhere between 110-145. I know it's a big range. You probably know this already, but if you sit still, with your feet flat on the floor, and take a few deep breaths before taking your bp, the top number will likely be lower.

I have this same thing! I went to the eye doctor and regular doctor and long story short they said I'm fine. But I kept googling and found something called vertical heterophoria. It sounds exactly like what I have! Has anyone here tried getting treated for this?

I thought exactly the same my opticians checked my eyes and referred me to eye clinic and they said all fine. Although I'm not a bad as I was I still have bad days. More like vestibular issues. Waiting for physio now.

I dealt with the same dizziness everyone else in this thread are explaining for about 3 years. And it got progressively worse. Used to be just occasionally getting dizzy when driving and eventually got to the point where if I drove more than 10 minutes, I had to pull over and let my wife drive. Even walking was an issue if I looked straight ahead. Getting off elevators made me lose my balance. Pushing a grocery cart while looking at the shelves would make the world spin. Thought it was brain fog, MS, ear infection, problems with fluorescent light, everything Web MD said caused dizziness must be what my problem is. Im 37, fit and have no health problems outside of this dizziness. I scoured every forum for an answer, got every test that everyone else had. MRI. ENT doctors, every blood test imaginable. Saw a neurological optometrist and had every test done and ended up with a prescription for prism lenses. Had an appointment scheduled to start Vision Therapy and then by a random fluke, I found out what my issue was. I went in for a routine yearly cleaning and the dentist noticed some decay on a tooth that had a root canal and been crowned. Took an x-ray and there was an infection on the tooth. There was no pain because the tooth had a root canal, so no nerve. Anyways, the doctor prescribed me some Penicillin and within a few days, I started feeling better. Drove 4 plus hours a couple weeks later, with 0 issue. Now I can't say with 100% confidence that the infection in my mouth was the problem. Maybe I had some other infection somewhere else but in the end, after spending thousands of dollars on every test imaginable. The $5 prescription for penicillin fixed all my issues. I figured since I used all these forums when I was having issues to find a possible culprit, I should return the favor and at least let others now what fixed my problem. Best of luck to everyone.
