What does a diverticulitis flare up feel like after a bowel resection?

I had a bowel resection done five weeks ago. (Removed my small colon.) I have been healing very well but yesterday I started having a nagging discomfort on the left side of my lower belly. It is not a throbbing pain and i do not have a fever. Also, if I lay still it doesn't seem to bother me.

When i had diverticulitis in the past my pain was mostly in my lower back on the left side and lower left abdomen and the pain was a constant throbbing. This discomfort is up higher.

Does what I am experiencing sound like a flare up? To anyone who has had a bowel resection and then a flare up, what did /does it feel like?

I have lost so much weight I really do not want to go back on liquids unless it is necessary. I am struggling to put weight back on.

Thank you for your help.

Hi all, I went to my surgeon today. He felt that it was possible but very unlikely that I had a flare up. Especially since my white blood count was normal and I didn't have a fever. He said it could have been inflammation from the surgery and that it is not unusual in the first three months to feel some pains. I guess I'll go with that. I have been having a problem with acid reflux off and on since November. It has gotten really bad since that episode probably from the stress of the whole thing. I was wondering if any of you are trouble with it also?
