What is this bump? Is it Genital warts or just a pimple?

Last month, I was sexually assaulted and I did tests and everything came back negative. Everything was okay down there till a few days ago. I had this occassional itch and I never thought much of it because I figured it was just pubic hair or something. I checked today and took some pictures and saw a wart looking thing.

Does anyone know what this could be? I haven't had sex since what happened so I'm not at risk of any STD's

Hi it looks like it could be a wart. Get tested, it could be HPV. Has it turned white at anytime ? does it feel hard ?

Hey. No it hasn't turned white at all. Still flesh coloured and hasn't increased in size or anything. It is hard

      Currently it looks like this

Get it tested as it does look like a wart. It has a clustered growth which is a characteristic of warts. Do you have any other growth on your labia or vulva ?

Fortunately. I do not have any other growth. I will get it tested. I hope it's nothing serious because my anxiety is starting to build up. Do warts cause more discharge? because that has increased too and it's not a pleasant smell.

No they generally dont cause many symptoms unless its on your cervix which is the high risk variant of HPV. Potential causes of concern include changes in vulvar skin, itching, bleeding, burning, abnormal discharge, pelvic pain and changes in bathroom habits (going more or less frequently or having blood in the urine or stool). Do you have any if these symptoms besides having more discharge ? odour to discharge means you have an infection. Get tested and hopefully they can perform a pap smear.

Could mine also be cancerous? I'm genuinely starting to get scared. I have had itching go on but it's not like BV level type itching, I used to dismiss it as some hair caught up on in there but I saw that wart when I checked.

I keep telling my mom but she doesn't seem to think much into it and I cannot go to a gyno on my own. I'm still a dependent : (

I cannot honestly say if it is the cancerous type. I believe it is only cancerous overtime if untreated. That is best discussed with a doctor and only if it is determined that it is a high risk HPV. Many people have and live with HPV and have a normal happy life so it is not something to panic and stress yourself out. Talk to mom and let her know you are concerned and would like to get checked as you have some symptoms that concern you about your vaginal health. Be open and express yourself.

hpv has almost 49 different strains, 16 & 18 are common to be cancerous. Hpv strains that cause warts are the ones that don’t cause cancer. I know it sounds scary but 80% of American’s have it. I was scared too, but youll be okay. Express to your mother you should go to the gyno. There’s treatments to remove warts. Best of luck hun.

Okay. I'll keep telling her about it and my concerns although now I don't know what else to do as I've even shown her the pictures : ( . Hopefully she listens and whatever it is it can be treated earlier. HPV is treatable right? Like I can take some treatment and I'm cured?

If she doesn't listen to me I might have to tell my dad, no matter how awkward that conversation may turn out to be.

Thank you for your responses btw. I really appreciate it.

Oh I did not know that, Is the gyno able to tell the strain? That relieves my stress a bit that it won't cause cancer. I'm not American but that statistic definitely makes me feel alot better. I'll keep trying with my mom. I hope you don't mind me asking, you have HPV? and if yes, what were your symptoms like? Does it affect your day to day life?(Answer only if you are comfortable talking about it, It's okay if you aren't)

so unfortunately HPV cannot be cured but it does go dormant in the body which means that it like will disappear but you still have it it’s just like it’s not transmittable and yes I do have it at first I thought my life was over but I stopped having sex and within a year and I went to the gynecologist and she told me that it wasn’t detectable which means that it’s dormant in my body and a lot of people are able to like get rid of the virus so they say but the virus never technically leaves your body. so there’s no cure but the doctor should be able to tell what type of strain you have. Honestly the only symptoms I noticed was that the outside of my vagina became inflamed and that my discharge was kind of watery almost like a grayish white. my vagina was basically out of whack for like a couple months. But you should find out if you even have it forsure.

Oh. When it is not detectable, does it mean you are unable to transmit it or is it still transmittable? I have read up on it and I've seen that it clears on its own in a year depending on the strain. Oh Was it a painful experience? Did you get any warts? . My mental health is in shambles at this point because all of this is most likely from that Sexual assault and I am starting to hate myself again not because of the HPV itself but the fact that it's because of that one incident, I got BV, a UTI and now possibly HPV? on top of my emotional trauma. It's becoming a bit too much for me. Thank you for your responses btw I genuinely appreciate it.

so because there are two types of HPV that you can get you can get the one that causes warts and no cancer or you can get the one that doesn’t cause any warts but it does cause cancer and so I have the one that causes cancer and that does clear up, when it’s dormant in your body that means it’s not transmittable I’m sorry that all this happened to you I know how stressful that could be.
