What is this ulcer? [graphic pic]

my new partner and i began having sex around november, on New year's day we had very dry, rough sex. I felt a raw sensation on the very bottom of my opening and thought it was a tear. I kept an eye on it checking it multiple times a day with a mirror and it only appeared slightly red. 3 days later white discharge began, no odor. 3 days after that it was burning more than usual and when i looked i had what looked like a canker sore. At first i thought my tear had gotten infected but i made an appointment and got it swabbed the day after. i'm currently waiting for my results (blood and swab).

i should mention it's only painful if i temper with it

i have spent the last 48 hours looking at pictures and none look like what i have. i'm confused because i've only slept with this one person since ny last test (which was negative and i confirmed they tested for it), and if i'd gotten it from him, wouldn't i have broken out 2 months a go when we first had unprotected sex?

posting this to see it anyone's first outbreak looked similar and can give me some insight

posting images in comments because it's telling me they are too big when i try posting from phone

Kinda looks like my tear and my swab (2 days from sex tear date) was negative for herpes. Here's my post- https://patient.info/forums/discuss/vaginal-tear-or-herpes-ob-please-help-723148?page=1#3645870

I never burn when pee and it took about 3-5 days to heal. No discharge. When she scrapped the cut, for pcr test, it wasn't painful. When my doctor looked at it she didn't think it was herpes.

Did it hurt when she did the swab test? Does your doctor thinks it's herpes?

Yes, herpes can lay dormant in your system.

I took several STD tests from September-January 2020 and it took 1-3 business days to load in the portal from my gynecologist

It possibly could be. What I have looks like a canker sore and is painless. The gyn told me it friction from sex. I ask for blood test which was previously negative and I have been celibate until this relationship. Well o get a call that my test is positive! However, I'm going back tomorrow to get a biopsy of it because it's been 3 weeks on topical and oral meds for HSV and nothing has made this better.

update - came back positive for HSV1. My doctor told me to continue taking the antiviral medication for the rest of the week.

As several people have mentioned, my Dr. explained it's the cold sore virus and that most people with it rarely experience subsequent outbreaks.

sorry for your diagnosis and yes hsv1 is common that 80% of people have it. if you don't mind me asking i take it your swab came bk positive. was the blood test pos as well? If not and then you'll know that it was definetly a new Infection.
