I have gained weight (10lbs) and was a regular runner but with no energy I hvnt ran in months. When will I be able to exercise again?

Barb can you post the link in to the video you are referring too & you mention not gaining any weight, is it common to gain weight after the procedure?

Hi Tammy, it is a you tube video by Michelle Kenway titled "how to get out of bed safely after a hysterectomy" seems obvious but it helped me! Some women say they put on weight afterwards but I think if you take into account that for the first few weeks your activity levels drop and you need to eat accordingly it will certainly help, but also for some ladies that have their ovaries removed the hormone imbalance can result in weight gain, I kept mine so may of just been lucky. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the info Barb, keeping ovaries too so fingers crossed. I've already gained so much weight from Hashimoto's, I’m not keen to gain any more 🙃

    Hi folks, just an update!

I’m 13 days post abdominal hysterectomy and just letting you know that it went really well and although I’m healing, I already feel great that I’m fibroid free.  Major shout out to Barbara91702 whose advice was totally what I needed to hear as the date for surgery grew closer and I began to feel overwhelmed and undereducated about the whole process! Her practical advice was spot on and really helpful, gave me real peace of mind before and after the surgery.

I was able to keep my ovaries though they’re a bit shriveled from the prostap injections however I’m not taking any HRT and have been told to just see how it goes. All fine so far. Mobility much better than expected but fooled me into doing too much too soon but my body soon let me know that wasn’t a good idea! Bring on the white jeans and energy!!! Will take a while but worth waiting on! Good luck to all waiting on surgery👍🏻

Fab news, so glad for you!! Take it easy and remember you have had major surgery!! I hope you

Enjoy your new found pain free future.......and get the white clothes out for the last throws of summer !! Only one little thing, I did try to wear jeans and trousers to quickly and really paid for it, strongly advise waiting quite a while before doing this, leggings are a God send!!! 😜

      Take care

Oh , so glad to hear that about jeans 😂

I wore a pair for about an hour today, couldn’t wait to get back in my joggers! I’ll be avoiding them for a while.

      Thanks for everything!
