Hi Kel, like most of the others I wore a nightie in hospital at night, and during the day a t shirt dress. Once at home I wore dresses, much easier to put on, but it was July, so warmer. Wishing you all the best.

Defo nighties for hispital and a dressing gown as fir 1st night or 2 you might need to use a bedpan. When l got home idd was joggies and stuff l wire if going out as l could not wear anything tight round the wound at home l wore lose pjs for comfort.

I was up the next day, with a walker and some care.

I was amazed, but it felt so good to be independant - especially as I was going to wee every hour all through the night, bad enough for a bloke needing a bottle every hour, but it must be horrible to have to use a bedpan all night long.

    Hi Kel,

I had my op in the morning, spinal block, with sedative. Lunch an hour later, up in the afternoon, using a frame, bathroom on my own. Crutches on day 1, out on day 2. No one on my little ward had a bed pan. I didn't have trouble getting out of bed. Maybe because I'm in my fifties, and it was a straight forward op. Maybe it also depends where you have the op.
