when do you need an IOL exchange

I had cataract surgery and one eye is OK but the other did not work. I went back to my surgeon but he said did everything correctly and the fact that I could not see, read or focus mainly was due to the health of my eyes. I checked with my retina doctor and he said my retina was healthy. I went back to my surgeon and he suggested I go for a second opinion.
At this point, I could read some print but images were blurry if they were further than arm length. Of course I could not read road signs or TV captions . By now the focus problems were worse because I was constantly seeing double images. It was almost five months after my operation
Thanks to the information I got from Julielyn I was able to find a wonderful doctor in Florida who tested my eyes thoroughly and found that I needed an IOL exchange. So here I am preparing to have this procedure that will restore my vision as it was before the cataracts. So thanks Julielyn, SueAn2 and Hudsongrl for all the support and feedback during all these five months when I was so confused and needing a kind suggestion. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for your comment, seems some doctors forget why they became physicians....I am glad to hear your IOL exchange was successful. I trust that will be my experience. You are right, we incur in all kind of expenses and my surgery is in another area of the United States so I have to travel back and forth, but my eyes are worth it. Thanks again for letting me know.
