I've been on citalopram in the past before I felt they stopped working. not sure if this is the case now

been on 20mg for 4 weeks now and still not seeing improvements I feel worse than ever x everyone says to keep going and it will get better but feeling pretty hopeless

had a few ok days last week but they were far from great.

my depression is pretty bad even though my main problem is anxiety.

my anxiety is horrible it's making it really difficult to function. the only time I feel safe is when I'm in bed but I force myself to get up every day and do stuff bit it's so difficult

I see people improving already and I don't really see any x

feeling pretty hopeless and hoping for some reassurance x

Hi P im sorry that you are feeling so bad. I have certainly had many days like that. The depression does make it really hard doesnt it? According to everyone else on here 4 weeks is early days. Even the data sheets say 4-6 weeks and most people say thats rubbish. Lots if people have told me 2 months. Have you got a good GP you can talk to for reassurance and a plan? Have you got any benzodiazepines? i have felt better since ive been on the low dose of lorazepam. it just takes the edge off and allows me to function. What does your partner think? Have they seen any improvement? its really hard to see it in yourself - i have to keep asking my husband. i know what you mean about the bed being a safe place but my husband has been making me get up and go to work and and although it is really hard and makes me nore anxious it also helps. Could you go and see a friend? Go for a walk? Go and hang out at the local library where there are other people? Being on your own a lot doesnt help i dont think. Are you doing any therapy this time? Just talking to soneone about what youre going through helps. xx
