When will this get better 😥

I'm coming up to 6 weeks now on 40mg citalopram and the past few days have been really difficult again!
morning anxiety is so hard to deal with
My mood is really low
I was finding evenings a little easier but that doesn't seem to be happening anymore.
My anxiety is still bad
I just feel like giving up atm and that these tablets aren't gonna work for me anymore. It's so hard not to go to the doctors to switch to something else. How much longer do I have to keep going for? Surely I would have seen some improvement by now.

yes you will have audio and visual hallucinations from these meds .is just normal .some folks get them some folks dont .we just happen to be the unfortunate ones .because the millions of folks that dont get side effects at all dont post on any forum.and the ones that do suffered from side effects are busy on forums.so it has nothing to do with a different disorder.trust n believe is the meds.

Hey Lois! Did you get them a lot?
Its hard to tell someone this is hard to beleive i hear this and that.
They think you know what.

That being said what to tell my first psyciatrist appt.
So you did get them lois . do they go away?
This is terrible along with everything .
Im on Zoloft now .

yup.i got them from start ups and withdrwals .not pleasant and yes they go away.if all the crap from antid.meds did not go away i would not be taking them.at least for me all the side effects went away.trust me i had side effects everything in the book.you tell your phychiatrist what you are telling us.and let him give you medical advise .what ever you do dont get any prescribtion for added meds.time is of the essence.took me 8months these meds take a along while to work.none of these meds are a quick fix.

Actually, we are not doctors but we refer our suggestions to what you tell us. But we dont know your actual mental state ( meaning all whats going on).
You should explain to your doctor how your every functionning is affect, how sensitive you seem to be with side effects of meds and withdrawal, asking for not being put into med change spiraling, asking for reassurance, telling your symptoms of depression and anxiety. Anyway, he will ask you lots of questions in order to give a diagnosis.
But tell him how anxious you are about med and side effects. If you want, prepare a note pad and pen and write what questions you have and write down the answers...

hey everybody sorry it's been a while moved house and had no internet for a week. back online now x
how is everyone doing? good I hope.
so I've decided to stay with the 20mg of citalopram and see how I get on from here. it's been about 2 weeks I think. I'm definitely not as good as I was when I was originally on them but I'm definitely a lot better than a few months ago.
my anxiety is still pretty high but my mood for the most part is a lot better. I dont feel as depressed
strange how back on my original dose and dont feel as bad as I did when I changed. I feel like I need to improve more but will wait and see what happens x
hope you are all doing ok x

I really hope its soon for you though x you're doing the right thing by trooping on x it wont be long and I'm sure you will start improving again x

do you get pains lois? im off the doctors on monday (which i hate) as my leg has been really sore for months, think its an injury as i never rest but i get pains everywhere and of course on bad days my mind flying with self diagnosis x

good for you x it's just a shame it's taking so bloody long for you to come off. I forgot you said you had fibro. my mum has it and the pain she is in sometimes is unreal so I do feel for you x
Potatoghost toria_07298

apparently leg pains is pretty common with fibro and they can get pretty bad for weeks-months. if you are doing too much and not resting enough this could definitely be a cause. it is for my mum anyway. hopefully it's nothing serious and is just the fibro x
toria_07298 Potatoghost

thats the thing until i went on cit i only had lower back pain so will find out if i have it once im off x
lois95799 toria_07298

unfortunately yes.at one time i thought i had fibro.but no is a weird pain that comes n goes n travels thru out my body.but i pay it no mind because the benefits out weight those little issues for me.

the thing with ssris is if you slightly hurt your self it magnifies pain to the tenth power.is so bizzare!
toria_07298 lois95799

thats interesting x
lois95799 toria_07298

this celexa for sure mimicks fibro or arthritis.
Potatoghost lois95799

you know what, I've noticed that but I didnt realise it was the SSRI for ages. x
Potatoghost toria_07298
Posted
yeah that would probably be the best time to find out. atleast you will have an answer to what might be causing you pain lovely. x
lois95799 Potatoghost
Posted
the problem is that doctors want to feed meds for pain they dont realize that is cause by the ssris.so the doctors verbal diagnosed not unless you had an xray and it shows damage is more than likely irrelavant.
toria_07298 lois95799

i agree, i was given drug after drug for symptoms of bloody drugs x
