In my case it's the QWERTY keyboard that drives me round the bend.

Who gave them permission  to move the letters about to the extent that most of the time the ones that I want have moved to another place and require me to go and find them before I can finish a letter?

Come to think about it, the spelling on them is noot as gode as it udsed to be, orf   exmple I m loking for the letre 'F' at the mumont.................................

All I can think of that drives me potty ,is that instead of becoming less intense, with the fear&.phobias, they seem to be more intense & this makes me feel less able to remove them

There is a lot of things that drives me mad, but I'm not listing them all. lol

Now Tis, my problem is similar to yours, but as I got older I had to have Bi-Focals, having Dystonia does not help matters in my condition. It's like the Optician said "Having contact lenses are out the question!" as well.

I'm not sure if you seen what Dystonia actually does when it's Generalized, but believe it is very difficult to live with, ("come to think of it, my wife sometimes says that about me!" lol ) Every pair of spectacles I was forever breaking, I would pop the screws out then the lenses would fall out. I had spare glasses but they were put together with my own DIY, longer screws - but they used to stab me in the eye lids if they slipped.

The pair I got now seem indestructible, I told the optician about all the problems I have with wearing spectacles, like screws popping out, lenses falling, because I am heavy handed. He took all my problems in to account, and come up with a really nice pair that I've had for over 18 months now, and I am pleased with them. I can't pop the screws out he put a small amount of Super-Glue on the ends of the screws so they cannot come out, and these frames are super bendy. Now, you're thinking why would I want bendy frames! SImple I keep falling asleep with them on - I have found them in so many places in the bed, some have been uncomfortable!eeklol

My wife on the other hand has a very different problem with hers!! LOL She bought a really nice pair of spectacles, interchanging frames, etc. A few days later she come in the room without her glasses om, I said "OMG, what have you done around your eyes?" she said "Nothing, why?" - I said "You better look in a mirror, you like Harry Potter, gone wrong!" all I heard was "WTH, how did that happen?" - she phoned the optician and he said you must have a problem wearing anything metal. She had her frames changed to plastic! LOL - After that we thought about it, neither of us wear wedding rings, even though we are married. She stopped wearing hers because of the metal irritates her skin. Mine I don't waer because I kept catching mine and it kept cutting my finger in the same place.

Always fun in our house! in stupid ways!

    Regards,

    Les.

      LOL... Sorry, Georgia...

Here you go a small one just for you!!

One morning my wife woke me up, and said "What have you done, it looks like you've had a nose bleed in bed, but your face is clean!" - I thought thats impossible.. until I moved, I found I had bit myself in the back with my false teeth which I had forgot to take out. There was a whole "U" bend of teeth marks in my back and still bleeding on my white t-shirt!! LMAO   lol

My wife is always telling people, he the only person she knows that can bite himself in the back!! hehehe

That war is over - the men surrendered years ago.

It all started to go wrong for them at the 'Battle of the P#ss Off I've got a Headache', which was closely followed by the 'Battle of the P#ss Off and Get Your Own Tea'.

But the final defeat really came following the 'Battle of the Big Mouth', when the women uttered their fearful war cry, 'I Wish I'd Never Married You, You Bast##d', at which time the men finally capitulated.

I don't know Georgia, I always like the long ones better, more content! razz

With me every night is virtually the same, get my pj's on and massaged to sleep by my hospital mattress. lol  I don't know why I bother putting the TV and watching NetFlix I always fall asleep just after they start. The ironic part is I'm always wearing my glasses, even in bed! Then I got a list of places found:

      1. On the floor <-- nearly="" stepped="" on="" them="" many="" times!="" 2.="" looking="" for="" them="" and="" i="" still="" got="" them="" on!=""><-- unusual="" but="" it="" happens!="" 3.="" under="" my="" pillow=""><-- and="" no="" the="" tooth="" fairy="" doesn't="" come="" for="" glasses!="" 4.="" some="" where="" in="" the="" bed,="" not="" always="" on="" my="" side!="" eek="" 5.="" occasionally="" indented="" pattern="" of="" my="" specs="" on="" my="" back!=""><- that hurt!

      6. under the bed, don't even ask how they got there!

that's where they used to be found, apart from one time and about 20 minutes after taking tramadol - needless to say, i did something very dumb. my dentures are in steradent tablets every night, but this night i put my specs in the glass with the dentures!! i must say steradent tablets clean dentures well, but not specs, they had a residue left on.

i always remember going to independence day at the cinema, i had many painkillers that day, well the movie started, the next thing i remember was the credits on the screen! i slept though the entire movie, there was me only worrying if i had snored! my wife said no, you were out cold! eek

my wife and i, have had done some really stupid things over the years, margerine fights, water fights, baby powder fights, we were still cleaning windows even a fortnight later! not recommended!!

      a bit longer for georgia! lol many eyes in this one! hehe that="" hurt!="" 6.="" under="" the="" bed,="" don't="" even="" ask="" how="" they="" got="" there!="" that's="" where="" they="" used="" to="" be="" found,="" apart="" from="" one="" time="" and="" about="" 20="" minutes="" after="" taking="" tramadol="" -="" needless="" to="" say,="" i="" did="" something="" very="" dumb.="" my="" dentures="" are="" in="" steradent="" tablets="" every="" night,="" but="" this="" night="" i="" put="" my="" specs="" in="" the="" glass="" with="" the="" dentures!!="" i="" must="" say="" steradent="" tablets="" clean="" dentures="" well,="" but="" not="" specs,="" they="" had="" a="" residue="" left="" on.="" i="" always="" remember="" going="" to="" independence="" day="" at="" the="" cinema,="" i="" had="" many="" painkillers="" that="" day,="" well="" the="" movie="" started,="" the="" next="" thing="" i="" remember="" was="" the="" credits="" on="" the="" screen!="" i="" slept="" though="" the="" entire="" movie,="" there="" was="" me="" only="" worrying="" if="" i="" had="" snored!="" my="" wife="" said="" no,="" you="" were="" out="" cold!="" eek="" my="" wife="" and="" i,="" have="" had="" done="" some="" really="" stupid="" things="" over="" the="" years,="" margerine="" fights,="" water="" fights,="" baby="" powder="" fights,="" we="" were="" still="" cleaning="" windows="" even="" a="" fortnight="" later!="" not="" recommended!!="" a="" bit="" longer="" for="" georgia!="" lol="" many="" eyes="" in="" this="" one!="">

Do you ever put your glasses on and wonder for a while if the fog is down to the glasses or your eyes?
    • Posted

I'm always relieved when it's the glasses because sometimes my eyes do get blurry.

      Good morning Georgia.

I have sent you a pm - please read.

    • Posted

I have that problem, I wish my specs had built-in lens cleaners! It would make life much easier for us. Half the time I forget I got specs and go to rub my eyes! Course then I have the case of "Fog-tacules" and they need cleaning.

Take this morning, I made sure i took my glasses off last night after the conversation on here yesterday! lol... - But, I fell asleep with the TV on and could not find the remote on my bed! And because I am always in pain every morning, getting out of bed is a feat and a half! Then, I found the remote, course I was facing the wall the pillow end of the bed was raised, so I could not reach the bars to pull myself over, and I needed to see the seat I keep the remotes on with the iPad. Eventually, after about 30 minutes of struggling I managed to see the seat, so I put the remote on it, then I tried reaching the bed remote which has a large clip on it so you can hang it on the chair or bed. Well, hanging it on the bed is useless when I cannot reach it, then again hanging it on my disabled chair was dumb as well - I couldn't reach that either!

The trouble with me is, and my wife is always saying this "You try to be too much independent, even when you know you cannot do things anymore!" - it is true, I would so much like to do more, even if was just being able to help my wife sometimes, but even stupid things like trying to put a sock on my foot, should be easy - but I make a "Pig's ear out of that as well", I tried doing that today I must of spent 20 minutes or so trying to align my foot in to the sock, then my foot would move!! It's gets so frustrating sometimes its unreal. To me putting a sock on a foot should be easy, but my feet, ankles and legs are all swollen, I can hardly bend them, if I do I have to watch it doesn't cause a cramp, I want to do things but my body does everything wrong to what my brain tells it to do. I lost one sock this morning, got my toes in it then the foot flung out and my sock flew out in to the hallway!!! In the end I gave up because it was just taking too long for me to get dressed.

Apart from that, it's not too bad today - at least it's warmer! Well, it is in Gloucester - I noticed they are getting it already for the huge Rugby do that's taking place soon, pity the center of Gloucester is dead, most shops say "TO LET", basically, they have moved the center to the docks, mind you it is nice there but, a long way from the center.

      Regards,

      Les.

i spend most of my days with nothing on my feet because i am not flexiable enough to reach and get socks or tights on  . i can some times bring my leg up to the side on the bed and get a sock on but like you say you risk getting cramp or worse still siactica

..its so blooming frustrating i just want to cry i only want to be able to dress myself its not much to ask

i can only reach my right toe nails to to cut them i cant do my left because it means reaching over then down just dont have the reach

this causes a lot of tears for me becasue like most of us i am firecely independant  and want to do things for myself so glad that someone else understands the frustration of it all .

When I was first struggling with ME my short term memory was so bad. I was talking to my mum on the phone and I'd been using herbs and things. I said 'I think my eyesight's getting better', then we creased up when I realised I was wearing my new glasses! Hehehe cheesygrin
