WHITE BLOOD CELLS BUT NO INFECTION

Posted , 4 users are following.

My first MSU was reported as contaminated and had to be repeated. My second test showed no infection but there were white blood cells present which is not the first time. I am due to have a cystoscooy on Monday but I want to cancel it because I think white blood cells in my urine without infection means I have bladder/kidney cancer and I am really terrified and cannot eat or sleep.

I had my cystoscopy this afternoon and the first couple of  times I passed urine afterwards it was stinging and a little pink but I now feel absoultely fine. It was slightly uncomfortable having it done but NOT painful and it only took about 5 minutes.  The Consultant told me immediately after finishing the procedure that my bladder was normal. It was such a relief because I thought I had bladder cancer. He explained that ladies "of a certain age" often have white cells in their urine but it is nothing to stress about. He is prescribing medication for my OAB and a low dose antibiotic to be taken for six months.  I will see him again in three months to see if there is any improvement with my OAB symptoms. I can live with my OAB although an improvement in the amount of times I pass urine at night would be great. The main thing is that I don't have bladder cancer and now he has put mind at rest I might actually sleep tonight, for the first time in many weeks.  ANYONE who needs a cystoscopy don't stress about it like I did, it's really not worth it for such a straightforward and painless procedure.

I'm so glad it went well for you

My ultrasound came back all normal

My question is when they give ultrasound, do they get to see if I may have ovarian cancer? That's my new thing because reading it keeps saying that a symptom is bloating, I have been feelin bloated and it's making me nervous.

Does ultrasound show anything like that ? They did kidney and bladder, all normal.

I would have thought ovarian cancer would be seen on an ultrasound scan but your doctor is the best person to ask so you can stop worrying. I get bloated sometimes with my IBS usually if I have eaten too much bread. I've now got a tingling sensation on one side of my face, thought I was having a stroke when I first noticed it but I'm still here and I now think its another stress symptom.  I do wonder if I will ever have a day when I don't have a health worry. I hope you get some answers soon, take care if yourself.

Hi I know this is a little old but I am worried. I have been suffering from stress and anxiety and having bad heart palpitations heart rate reaching the 170's so I have been in and out of the er.. I have been having mild stomach pains and on one of my er visits they told me I was clear of any uti or bacterial infections. But 4 days ago I went to the er she told me I had a lot of white blood cells in my urine like I'm fighting a infection so I told her I was on my period at the time and she suggested maybe that was the reason so she canceled the antibotics.. now yesterday i started getting flu like symptoms.. my body is aching all over and my entire face hurts and my head and I have runny nose I'm so scared I hope I don't have blood poisoning because they took to long with getting the uti and it spreaded I just need advice asap thank u ??
