i had metronidiazole for 5 months then took it again for 2 weeks with doxcycline and cipro iv used pessarys over the counter gels changed from bubble bath to just water changed from thongs to cotton pants changed from tampons to pads nothings worked i went back as a last resort as i had tried everything but boric acid and i read the reviews alot of people said it worked short term but kept coming back so i didnt want to try something that was likely not going to work so i was prescribed clindamycin cream for 7 nights iv been free of bv for nearly 4 months now i had it for 4 years

Hi i only use boric acid suppositories and my probiotics pills it works for me i also never let it get to the smell i just use it once every 3 days i had to study my body in order to keep it in control.

but thats not curing it tho... is that not just keeping on top of it having to put boric acid into your vagina every ,3 days isnt treatment as soon as u stop it will come back again therefore its not getting rid of your infection its just taming the smell

wow thanks i will try the cream, and the pills? now with the pills you did once a month or the usual 2 a day? i think that might be too much for me lol ive taken those pills twice a day it made me sick, do you think maybe once a week would be good?

1 twice a day for the tablets for 7 days is the recommended dose for bv

i did the 5 tablets each month dose which is 2g 5 tablets in one go its not easy doing it like that as once u get a taste of one of the tablets u start wretching and almost throwing them back up

theres the single 2g one day dose which is 5 tablets or theres 1 twice a days for 7 days for a week

the single one day dose is probably far better than taking it daily as it gets it over with it rather that dragging it out over a week

I'm keeping ontop like you are .
I know it doesn't cure it but I'd rather manage it with suppositories boric acid or balance active pessary than smell and then being paranoid people can smell it .
I've used every thing a doctor can give and it comes back .

that's all we can do. but some one told me about clindamycin the gel. i haven't tried that. thats my next move. if that dont work then im scared!
