Will I experience withdrawls of zoloft after 3 days of taking 25mg?

I have been on zoloft for 3 days 25 mg and I'm having serious side effects I have decided to stop taking and inform my doctor, will I go through withdrawls after only 3 days of 25 mg? I seriously pray not, I have read many of the problems everyone on here has suffered and I have to say I hope things get better for you. I pray I don't suffer the same problems after only 3 days!!

Hi Lori, I know this is an old thread but I too took Zoloft for 3 days (25 mg) and had the worst side effects. My other doctor told me to get off it right away and didn't need to wean off it. The side effects were worse then the anxiety I was having before. I still have many of same side effects that I got on Zoloft, hand tremors in the am, nervousness and lack of appetite. It has been 10 days since i stopped taking it and I just want to be back to myself. Granted I have always had side effects when it comes to these kind of meds. Just wondering when this will stop. My acupuncture says the side effects are still going on in brain even if it is out of my blood stream. I am trying to take a low dose of Ativan to counter act but really not helping much. Probably cause I am so cautious with Ativan to not get addicted but I never was and wish I just stayed with that on a as needed basis. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

it wasnt zoloft, i tried it before. this time it was trazodone. yes more anxiety again and worse depression along with gastric problems. the gut is the second brain so not unexpected i suppose. i think all these drugs are bad for some of us so i dont intend using any more if possible.

I agree with many here that Sertraline/Zoloft is a powerful medicine. It DOES take weeks to see any improvements. I started with 12.5 mg in January 2019, and I experienced almost all of the side effects that others have experienced. For people who have horrendous anxiety to begin with, the doctor should prescribe a short-term Z drug like Valium or Ativan for the patient to take as needed in the beginning weeks. People like me who experience constant anxiety are almost guaranteed to experience an actual increase in anxiety when beginning this medicine. I felt like I was losing my mind before taking Sertraline, so I hung in there, took Valium as needed in the first weeks, and prayed for the day the Sertraline would alleviate my anxiety. It took 2 1/2 months to begin to feel better. And in that time I was isolated because of anxiety. So I watched tv, stayed in bed, went out only when I had to, etc.

I thank God for Sertraline. It has started to give me back my life. No, it was not easy. But I was determined to try anything to stop the horrible, constant anxiety. The posts on this site helped me to hang in there, and I am so grateful for the support. Patients who begin Sertraline need to stay in contact with their doctor, in order to receive reassurance that the physical side effects of the medicine are very normal in the beginning, as your brain is getting used to a natural chemical (serotonin), for which it has been starved for a long time.

So while I agree that Sertraline is not for everyone, I feel that some people disregard it too fast, and haven't given it a chance to work. If you can, with your doctor's help, get through the many physical and emotional side effects in the beginning, you will be blessed with some relief from anxiety at last. I wish ALL people here the best, and pray that you all find what works for you.

Hopefully someone will respond since this is an old thread, but was curious if anyone had itching as a side affect after stopping Zoloft 25MG after taking for 3 days. I started itching in various places with no rash, not severe but more annoying. Started about 5-6 days after stopping Zoloft. Thanks!
