I've not long been told I've got cellulitis in my right leg, it's still very painful, but it's starting to bruise? Is this normal?

Hello ,
I've been A&E twice within one week, the Antibiotics I was given cleared most my Infection up, however I've got bruising, and can't walk due to how painful the pains are in my leg, so I'm now on crutches and no one knows how long recovery is going to take

HI Chloe, just following up. Is your leg still bruised? Is is blackish? Still painful? My toes remained black 3 months after a bite. My doctor said it was Stacis. It's where the veins, blood collect from where I had cellulitis. I am not sure it will ever go away completely. More concerning was the burning sensation after walking. I am not sure if would have disappeared on its own if left alone, but I began taking a vitamin suggested by friend/nurse. It's called Diosmin. I found it in a vitamin store (USA) and it seemed to work - bruising slowly disappearing and pain much less. I recommended it to a Pilates work-out gal who was biten and left with a black circle resembling a bruise as well. I reviewed this with a doc before using and suggest you do as well if taking. He read about it on-line and said it looks like it was worth a try. (Most US docs only push pharm drugs so delighted to find such a kind professional to research.) God bless.

Hello,
My leg is still painful when walking sometimes and sitting down for to long can cause some pain as well , I've got a little bruise there and mark where the bite was and where I had the inflection.
I've not been told to take anything else really other then I am at a high risk of having it again, but I may look into something like that to try and help the pains I still get.
ThankYou

Hey Chloe...I've posted on different threads about cellulitis but I'll go ahead and share with you as well...after a 7 day stint in the hospital with drip Antibiotics and an addit 20 days of double oral antibiotics, I noticed on my paperwork "Venous Ulcer" and was surprised since not a word was spoken about it in the hospital, only "cellulitis"...did my research and found several articles about the misdiagnosis of Venous Ibsufficiency (also referred to as Stasis) as cellulitis. This was confirmed by my wound doctor (I was voicing my alarm of getting cellulitis again) and he said that unfortunately many doctors are under trained in this area (circulation)..,the "bruising" is from the pooling of blood that is leaking from your veins...I had no idea that my spider veins around my ankles were any more than cosmetic/genetic nuisances (my blood pressure is great and I'm not diabetic) but if you have puffy ankles/feet at the end if a long day that goes down overnight, you might have venous insufficiency...the compression socks will help a lot...and it's forever ...but you don't want to relapse or develop ulcers like I did...let me how you are feeling...if you are up, you should be walking (to activate calf pump) or if you're sitting, elevate foot above heart,,,,wishing you well
