Working to save my knee from surgery

Hi all, I'm back to a health group I was on some yrs back and am refreshed with some of the new inputs.....

I've talked about my OA knee and not wanting surgery and looking at Prolozone and Prolotherapy and it was good to hear this from a therapist in Malaysia...I have had some good results with Prolo but never did Prolozone which is very different therapy....here is what he said...so gives me more encouragement to attempt ozone for the knee.  I'm so glad I went back over to this group....

Hi, I am a therapist from Malaysia,

I would like to share about few of therapies that i have found to work on thousands of my patient for most orthopaedic problems.

1. Prolozone/ Ozone Discolysis

2. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

3. PRP Prolozone

4. Stromal vascular fraction (Autologous Adipose Derived Stem cells)

These are cell therapy and ozone therapy which is considered "off label" in Malaysia. its a safe, very fast result and patient will feel significant improvement only with one session. I would say it is a very worth last resort option before surgical intervention.

I think that 'the world' starts to realize that cutting and scraping in a human body may not be the best form of 'healing'.  I too prefer gentler methods, provided they are safe.

Do you also know what the further thoughts are with this therapy?

Hanny, I'm not sure what you mean by "further thoughts"...  My plan is to do this soon for my knee if not this year early next year.   My plan is not for knee surgery.....

Marey, you mentioned ozone for other areas of purification....our local WMCA swimming pool is purified by ozone vs chlorine....so that is a good thing....I don't go there but I know this.. I don't feel stable walking around a pool area and getting in and out of a pool....

For now, I continue with the glucosamine sulfate, the ligament supplement I've talked about, primrose oil and omega 3's and my topicals and knee support....some days my knee is better than others....

But hearing what the therapist in Maylasia said is encouraging....I've read pros and cons here in the U.S. and know prolozone is used in many countries:  Germany, Russia, Cuba and probably the UK also  and probably others in Europe..

Too too bad the insurance industry doesn't buy into something that could work for us and  not cause harm.   Joy

You have a critical point - insurance industry's willingness.  It's often short term thinking.  Treating symptoms and not healing.  Etc. Too little long term vision.

Further thoughts:  I was curious.  What does ozone do exactly - that it can help your knees and that surgery can be avoided?  I understand that it kills harmful bacteria.  What else can be the effect of using ozone?

My mother's generation was very aware of it's importance.  Then came 'stronger methods' and such and simpler, cheaper solutions seemed forgotten.  The world may regret overruling the simpler and cheaper.

Hanny, ozone won't rebuild my knee but will HOPEFULLY keep me more pain free and able to walk and remove some stiffness.  Removing everything from the knee via surgery, removes so much that can be good too.

Why Ozone Therapy? Because scientific studies have proven that Ozone, properly introduced into the body in repeated applications inactivates viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa and carcinomas in diseased cells! *

      How Does Ozone Therapy Work?

Ozone therapy has been in use for many years by thousands of West German doctors who claim, in hundreds of scientific and clinical studies, that they are able to inactivate AIDS and other viruses and cancer through ozone therapy. They explain that diseased cells have a lowered enzyme count in their cell wall or ‘lipid envelope'.

Looking at a diseased cell electrochemically, the first thing that differentiates it from normal cells is that the protein coating that surrounds it is contoured distinctly. The disease that has invaded the cell is parasitical, drawing off the cellular electricity or ‘life force' of its host. This creates ‘cell stress' and under these conditions, the cell can only manufacture a substandard protein coating for itself. When ozone is introduced into the blood in correct, stable concentrations ** it is immediately converted into hydroxyperoxides and other beneficial free radical scavengers. ***

Does make good sense, Joy.  The body will then be able to heal itself, so to speak.  Much better alternative when it does help.  Very much worth trying.  And many have gone before you, good sign.

I hope you will be able to access this option.

      Thanks for your explanation.

Why don't we do a thread on Chit Chat, something like:

Where do we hail from and a bit about us?  I'd like that and know a little more about the people we talk to every day.   J

yes ok Joy...thats a really nice idea.

I'll try and put back up the conversation I started...and separate it from the technical problems question which has now stayed up in its new form...The original thread was in your honour. It was entitled 'celebrating Joy'. Did you  see it? anyway i'll try again..without adding any contention xxx and we can hopefully go on to answer your questions xxxxxxxx

Hi Joy have you ever looked into borax? (boron) I will inbox you a link as I can't put it here.

Kellie, I know about borax and use a tad in my MSM drink daily, don't know if it helps or not...some others on another health group told me about borax vs boron to use...I have  a box of 20 mule team borax and use a tad every day in my morning drink.

I don't know WHY my good long message was deleted again....,makes me want to run away and not bother posting my feelings.   J

Hang in Joy, and keep trying.

Have had some messages disappear as well.  Innocent text really. Wonder whether there is a flaw in the program's automatic set-up somehow, that 'eats them'. (ha) (like socks in the washing machine)

ha ...socks in the washing machine...where do they go?

anyway I 'll put that thread back up for Joy xx

My latest discovery today was finding the benefits of Rose Hips and the pain and stiffness of OA and RA.   THere is a lot of info on rose hips and these arthritis forms and to think up until over a year or so ago I was taking Danish Rose Hips and on the suggestion of another health buddy, went off the Rose Hips and on to another Vit C.   So I have a couple bottles of Rose Hips 750mg caps on their way to me.

In the meantime, I have a Vit C tab with 100mg Rose Hips in each tab and I'll take them until the higher dose Rose Hips arrive......

As long as I'm livin, I'm tryin.... Joy

That's the spirit Joy.  Never give up.

I have looked at the wild rose hips on our property and haven't done anything with them this far.  Other than cutting these shrubs back.  (too much other fruit to take care off as well)  But if these nice looking orange red fruits could be of any help to the system -  could make some .. . perhaps jam like stuff (no sugar) out of them next season.  Good on bread (gluten free) perhaps and might be a nice treat with lots of vitamine C.
