WORRIED ABOUT HERPES AND PERMANENT CHANGES ON PENIS HEAD DESPITE NEGATIVE IGG AT 4 MONTHS

hi guys

this all started a year and a half ago i had unprotected sex with a girl

a few days later i had red sore dots on my glans..no crusting or oozing but burning ..hoping it was yeast as the girl did say she got regular yeast infections

I was to scared to go to the doctors at the time and decided that if the dots came back I would get a swab and ordered a igg which I took at 18 weeks which came back

positive for hsv1 (no surprise as I've had it since childhood)

but completely negative for hsv2

the red dots have never came back like they did the first time but my glans doesn't look the same anymore ,the front of my glans is now scarred with ridges when before it was smooth, I've tried clotrimazole on my glans which hasn't changed it..just wondering if anyone else has glans that have permanently changed with scarring after yeast, hsv or even hpv

if anyone has any advice or opinions I would really appreciate the input

the clinc think its normal and wont swab until I have sores again,i payed for a private igg which I took at 18 weeks and was negative for hsv2 but after researching I've realized that there certainly not full proof

this whole saga is causing me alot of stress and anxiety tbh and has stopped me dating anyone else

people say it looks normal and ive done all I can ,to move on and forget it but i know my glans has changed

I've tried clotrimazole and it made no difference, thing that worries me is theres no pain or itching associated with my balanitis ,apart from the pain of the original sores it just seems like its permanent and an aesthetic problem which is why I'm worried about hsv2

im struggling with this at the moment and no diagnosis despite speaking with numerous doctors. They tell me it loos normal and in my bead and to carry in but i cant. My glans and generally feeling down there have changed.

In the UK it is hard to test for HSV which is my concern. I have ended up paying for a private blood test which i sent away yesterday. i understand the inaccuracies with this and exposure i could have picked up in the past, but want to at least see.

On doxy, week 3 of 4 with no change, follow up with my urologist in Jan.

    Chin up mate,

      hi mate

I'm in the uk aswell...does your glans look similar to mine?

was yours changes after a unprotected encounter?

I'm in the uk also and it really is ridiculous how they handle herpes fears

have you tried a pcr swab on the area looking for hsv?my glans definitely changed after unprotected vaginal intercourse...one group of burning red dots then my glans changed in that specific area becoming wrinkled, pitted with an almost shimmering crushed glass like effect...the area around the back of the glans which wasn't affected by the dots still looks healthy and smooth..its almost like the skin affected has been permanently changedimage

ive gotten blood tested multiple times for herpes and im negative, this definitly is not hsv . i think its skin reaction from a fungal infection

it sucks but i think we are going to have to just live with it buddy

Have you tried fungal creams and actually seen any results? I've done two rounds and also was prescribed Mupirocin, no improvement sadly.

Does anyone else notice this being much worse after blood flow / after ejaculation?

    • Posted

yeah mines seems to be more pronounced when/after being erect

And after 6-12 hours does it go back to a much milder version? Not sure how that would align with HSV if the experience has been going on for a few months but I am not an expert. I too have been having a hard time finding any solution whatsoever.

I suppose it does...I think it's more pronounced during/after an erection purely down to blood flow and expanding tissue that highlights the balanitis/trauma more...the question is what's caused the damage in the first place....I know experts say that symptoms dont persist long term with hsv but what if the damage is long term due to the virus entry point

I've asked Terri Warren a question on her forum concerning this and I'm awaiting a reply if anyone wants to read what she says it under the same user name I have on here

it says it takes years to heal from and that i have to just let it cure itself if thats what it really is but its really stressful i guess i will be finding out for sure in a few days
