Wound infection.

a bit of a set back.  I began to get a little pain in one small area of the scar yesterday.  It gradually got worse and had me up every hour during the night and was absolute agony by this morning.  It felt as if it was very much near the surface and nowhere near the actual joint and very sore to touch.

I've been to a and e who examined the wound and could see one little bit which is red and much harder than the rest.  I 'm now on antibiotics and increased doses of painkilłers with instructions to go back if it gets any worse at all or doesn't improve within 48 hours.  I have also had to let Wrightington know.

feeling very sorry for myself.

That's awful for you and I can imagine quite scary. The antibiotics should help though. And it seems you've got it early.

That is bad news, but at least you seem to have caught it early, so a dose of antibiotics should sort it out.

Amazing how few instances we hear of getting infection, not that that helps you.

    Hope it clears very soon.

    Best wishes

Oh gosh Thursday - I am so sorry to hear that. You are five or six weeks along aren't you? You must have been starting to relax and feel better. The antibiotics will do the job and you need to monitor it for the next 48 hours - I hope you are ok

Sorry to hear about your infection. Wrightington might want you

to be on strong antibiotics, and maybe let your gp look.

We are quiet for Christmas as my husband got bacterial

    pneumonia last week!

We have Polish Christmas Eve meal to get through tonight (if the table isn't groaning, there isn't enough food on it), then traditional English Roast Turkey and all the trimmings tomorrow too !!!

How am I going to keep the weight off?

      Happy Christmas 🎄⛄️⭐️

Typically it's borscht (beetroot soup) with pasta (like ravioi) filled with wild mushrooms which we make together.

Followed by carp - but my wife uses salmon in pastry which we al love, I then make a tray full of roasted vegetables to go with it - I put all sorts in it, sugarsnap peas, mini leeks, courgettes, aubergine, carrotts, parsnip, tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, potato, sweet potato, sweet peppers, a chilli, mini sweetcorn, quartered red onion all drizzled with olive oil and roasted for 25-30 mins.

Followed by rich fruit compote, with plenty of alcogol in it, and a scoop of ice cream.

The whole thing is a real joint effort for us, but as she says, originally Polish cooking seems designed to keep the woman in the kitchen.  I just like keeping her traditions alive for our sons to enjoy.
