Wow where do i start..................it all began about 6 weeks ago driving early one morning and had a violent dizzy spell so bad had to stop the car.

Anyway drove home and just felt muzzy headed all day after that so went docs on wednesday he said it sounds like labyrinthitis to me anyhow cut a long story short went private after having another violent dizzy spell where i felt like i was being swung around by my ankles where he diagnosed bppv..... done epley manouvre but no change had MRI scan all clear went to hospital again last week another doc says bppv aswell.

But i cant sem to make them realise i just feel really foggy and probably light headed in mornings untill about midday when it seems easier feels like real heavy head cold where your head just feels completely bunged up but with lightheadedness thrown in aswell.

some days feel about 95% next day feel bloody awful and its starting to make me depressed now as there seems no end in sight!!

Just to be sure: Give up coffee (it's the caffein) and smoking.  Take any medication at night instead of in the morning.

Few of us are tinnitus sufferers Joe ,so it's a combo of things we have going on ,all got to have a connection I believe at bottom of it all  hence were trying anything to finding one thing that gets finally rid of it . It's us now. Someone else tomorrow ,just wake up with it from nowhere .Certainly messes ones life up,know that much .

It may be a combination of factors. Just came back from my neurologist (one of many doctors I visit) yesterday.  Be sure though to give up coffee and smoking.

Marlene, i gave up smoking 6 months ago, after 40 years of smoking my head off, still miss having fag but hey ho.  Anything to try and help, drink decaff coffee now, gone vegetarian also.  Big changes considering i am now 57 yrs young.  Things are improving but think that's more to do with adapting to the condition, who knows?  Wouldn't want to go back to smoking now though as feel much improved but have put on a stone in weight in that time, so had to go up a dress size.  Also just got myself a wig for bad hair dayssmile  Just pop it on my head like a hat and ready to go.

unfortunately there is also caffeine in tea and caffeine is something to avoid according to the mirgraine associated vertigo diet even if you don't get headaches vertigo allegedly can be triggered by caffeine.

Good on you stopping smoking ,yes they say you put weight on ,think only smoke out of habit ,think as you get older it's hard to keep weight under control regardless if you don't smoke ,us females blame it on hormones ,which I consider part of it ,me I blame everything down to hormones .I have got indoor static bike since balance went  A Wall .inclined to hop on do 5 miles ,hop off  then continue to keep doing it ,through the day ,husband who's got asthma finds it's benifit . You made me laugh at the wig ,funny ,but your serious yes .im not a big coffee drinker  have what 2 tsp a day only am ,I'm into water ,water ,water ,have done since I got this rhinitis 9 yrs this coming Sunday when I got that head virus ,can't believe it's that long already . Start of all my woes .Keep warm Anne .

correct, it's all come on top with the menopause, giving up smoking, vertigo, if it were a game of bingo i would have a full house.  Serious about the wig though, don't know why i didn't get one years ago.  They're all waiting for me to wear it to work tomorrow.  I told them it will be staying on my head and not for passing around to see how it looks on them.  They'll all want one.  Guess i will keep warm with that on my headsmile

Love to be fly on that wall tomorrow ,giggle that will be for sure ,pass the wig then .Long and Blonde ??? They do make some really good ones these days ,bit expensive for a good one .

I've only played Bingo once. Honest bored me to tears .

Yes Menopause brings Dizzyness ,along with Tinnitus .

Let me know how work goes and the wig how it went down ,see how many recognise you with it Anne.Head warmer good thinking .

I dont suppose any of this can be caused by sinus problems?

Yu must be reading my mind Steve ,I've had Rhinitis 9 yrs from bad head virus ,had balance problem for 3 yrs  non stop .Blocked Eustachian tubes .for lots of us .my ears are always feeling full up ,like deafness. But you can hear okay  I know I can hear a pin drop .

to be honest steve it can be caused by almost anything, cos nobody really knows the cause, as ENT is ears, nose and throat, yes it's very likely as your nose is connected to your ears etc.,

yep thats it blocked tubes can sometimes feel like its draining down the back of my throat

So have you got any tips?

Hello Steve ,just on pad ,try steam with menthol crystals. Get them from a chemist shop ,it's a build up of mucus that drains down ,I've got some Sterimar ,salt water rinse .what I do do regular is place warm cloths up to both ears .If got no tinnitus ,be careful what meds you take  as they can set of tinnitus ,especially when you say get the flu etc ,look on any leaflets inside any meds if it says ear ringing as side affect ,leave well alone .

Anne would be best to ask about meds Steve .

I'm sat with ear infection ,left ear but that's my worst tinnitus ear ,I would hate for another to get this as well ,so takecare of those ears okay .
