      hi

have a new referral at the royal golden jubilee hospital in Glasgow only thing is i don't know how long their waiting list is, can't find it anywhere but the letter did say they would phone in the near future to arrange an outpatient appointment ,

Will the appointment be to see a surgeon? I was fobbed off with a rheumatologist.

      Hi

Yes it is to meet the surgeon etc and hopefully a date for this ' non urgent ' surgery lol

That sounds like good news. As I said the important thing is to get into the queue. It then may take time but at least you will then know where you are.

Exactly how my right hip was, bone on bone. I hope that you get it all sorted soon.

    Take care

Hopefully like me, I have had no arthritic pain since the op, and we have had all the right weather conditions that would have only added to it. In fact I want to get up and walk and to things now. Just waiting for the day they say I can bend down again!!

Only staples, out today and I must admit that I am not looking forward to that one!

Hope it all works out for you soon Billy.

Thats great news just think once the staples are out you are well on the way , I am sure you will be on the go before long and glad you got the op done

lol As for me its still a waiting game which s annoying considering the x ray is 3 months old and probably some more damage has been done since then and I am still annoyed at the fact that it was not urgent GRRRRR lol

I had stitches that disintegrated. At the end if my op my surgeon asked me if I wanted clips or stitches that disintegrated, I had a spinal with no sedation so was wide awake, but did not have a clue what was what. I decided ones that disintegrated sounded better as I would not need them removed!

To be honest ptolemy, I worried over nothing, it was fine and as Billy said, it does feel better afterwards, I even walked backed from the doctors, its only 10!mins up the road, obviously longer on crutches so used it as my only long walk today. Rest of afternoon evening will potter around slowly indoors.

So glad it went well, the lady next to me in hospital was screaming when they took clips out with great lumps of skin. I don't think the nurse doing it had much of a clue though. Most people seem to have no problem.

There is no space there at all - you MUST be in pain, and needing two new hips.

one is pretty sore all the time lol ( extremely sore) the other is just slightly painful which i can put up with just now.

do you really think I need 2 new hips thought the left one was looking not to bad lol

do you really think they would do a double total hip replacement?image

Double hip replacement seem to done a lot more often nowadays. i\It seems to really depend on how fit the patient is and probably their age etc too.

my mother had a double hip

replacement at 78 and managed very well .

      i had mine 3 years apart .

eamon Holmes on tv had a double replacement so

it could solve all your problems Billy .

I think it would solve a lot but how do i ask a consultant to do it , I would feel bad if he said no

You could always just ask what he thought about doing both together. You should not feel bad if he says no, if he explains why.
