Hello everyone, At the end of my tether as yet again the arrival of Spring sees me losing sleep due to thick green mucus every night being coughed up. Red eyes, blocked nose etc. Have it all year round but worse March- Sept. Mad as NHS allegist says I'm not it's not hayfever. Please help any advise very welcome. Use Amays nasal spray and saline rinse which helps me breathe but does nothing to lesson symptoms. Antihistamines have no effect. What's wrong with me?

Sorry but I fail to understand, they tested it in what way?

Apart from the question something about your treatment. Amays spray is fluticasone a corticosteroid. This is only the first of a series of medicines you may use to relieves a rhinitis. I use it myself but it did not help enough like you. in my experience,  regardless they find the reason or not of your allergy by their guidelines they should have added medicines to your treatment in order to control your symptoms  If they have not done that by this time  this is wrong  and you have to enquire something stronger like "Rinatec"; and this is only the beggining, you really need to put pressure, I do not know if you are aware how bad the NHS Could be. Myself I practically diagnose myself on google (an my gp was not happy about it)

If you go private as you said the specialist will run more test but in despite  what he  finds you should ask since the first appointment for written sugestions of other medicines in order to control your symptoms. In most cases your GP will prescribe on the NHS this suggestions like in my case.

I see Rinotec is a nasal spray too. I'm wooried about using theses as I've read long term use causes more problems and at the end of the day they are not fixing the problem just masking it. I'm currently taking 3 Benodryl plus decongestion through day and night plus the spray and finding a certain amount of relief. Have GP apointment in 2 weeks and will ask for referral back to allergy clinic.

Quite right but benadryl has the same side effects or more (drawsiness). I recommend you to ask to your GP for rupatadine https://patient.info/medicine/rupatadine which I am using myself and is gving me a quit time meanwhile I am waiting my immunotherapy vaccine being made (allergic shots). It should also have less side effects because is a second generation antihistaminic unlike benadryl. Remember you may spen month before you find wha you are sensitive to.

More important than all this, you say you are going back to your GP. it is very important that you inform your GP that you "would like a seccond opinion from the allergic clinic". First of all,  because, you are allow to ask for a second opinion from the NHS (not guarantee btw) and if you do not say otherwise you may be said no by your GP or being sent to the same specialist who seems (by your words) to have made his mind, so in order to get the best from the allergic clinic you shouldn't see the same person.

"I have already gone through all that process, but in my case were ENTs"

there are also private recombinant tests that can test up to 100 allergens at once but I wouldn't try yet that option.

As I've said in previous posts been diagnosed with non allergic rhinitis... I KNOW I'm allergic to something! Feb to Sept mucus green or yellow and severe cough every year resulting in laryingitis for 6 weeks each time. Anyway.... this year things have taken a turn and I have now been coughing up blood for the past 2 months mainly at night time. Sometimes fresh blood but mostly in green phlegm. I'm having a second chest CT scan tomorrow including abdomen and pelvis as first scan showed query scarring and infection. Should get the results tomorrow afternoon. Obviously scared. Coughing up blood has nasty indications, but I am pretty sure it's to do with this rhinitis... Grateful for any insight folks..
