Yeast Infection/BV?

I've been using Clob regularly for almost two months now. It helped my flare up for a while, then the last two weeks it hasn't been helping much. And then this week I started having internal burning/feels swollen. I think I must have a yeast infection or BV. Does anyone else think this could be caused by the ointment? I took Fluncanazole and it helps for like 2 days, then comes back. I might need to go get tested for BV.

You could have a side effect from the medication. Maybe you ought to check with your doctor.

I have had LS for a few years. When I was first diagnosed I was prescribed clob for my intense itching on my labia. After a two days on Clob, the itching went away so I stayed on it. After 6 weeks on Clob, I noticed I had a yeast infection. So I stopped Clob and treated the yeast infection for 7 days. Then I noticed I would flare, I would then return to my Clob treatment. This cycle went on for 4 months until I all together stopped using Clob. Clob would trigger a yeast infection every time I used it. So I decided to treat my LS by monitoring my diet ( I don't eat white breads or sugar) and baking soda soaks.
Currently I have no symptoms of LS and have a normal sex life.
I can't stress enough how anyone with LS needs to find out what your body is reacting to. We are all different, what may work for one may not work for another. You have to make a journal of everything you are eating/drinking, and anything your body comes into contact with ( including cleaning supplies).
When I first started my journal, I stripped my diet and followed the autoimmune protocol diet. It was tough but it lead me to figure out that my body didn't like white breads or sugar.
I also think a big part of my healing came from baking soda soaks. This has been a long journey for me and I really think LS though autoimmune, is also linked to an imbalance in our bacteria. I notice a lot of people with LS have yeast or bowel issues. Heal your gut and you will heal your body. I hope you all find your triggers, your health is worth it!

interesting, I'm already on a no white flour no sugar regimen due to early diabetes 2, and never experienced a yeast infection. i thought i had my first, but it was the manifestation of the LS. I do have psoriasis of the hands and scalp which is under control. my doctor dermatologist suspected vitiligo a year ago in my vulvar area but the gyn doc said LS and did the punch biopsy to prove her suspicion. Go figure.

Funny, I get the same reaction all the time, " I'm already on a no white flour/ no sugar diet". We all have our own microbiome, what works for me may not work for you. It is important to find what is causing your body to attack itself. Autoimmune disease is the body getting triggered to attack itself. Find your triggers, you will be able to manage the disease.

I know there are multiple kinds of candida. Does anyone know if the routine Yeast test includes looking at ALL of them?
