Hi Ladies!

Have any of you been prescribed Zoloft for anxiety and had any positive results? My GP prescribed it for me at 25mg. I'm a little apprehensive about taking it because of the side effects.

No just Xanax. Didn't help.. Just made me feel dizzy and foggy. I stopped taking it after a week. I don't do well with any presciption meds.though. you might have better luck than me. Good luck!

HRT can sort your anxiety and better than Zoo ft.

Have a read of some of Professor John Studd's papers. I have been treated with anti psychotics anti depressants and sleeping pills all through the peri menopause. It was not until I began to experience a severe lack of libido post meno I began reading about anything to do with menopause.

I am now on HRT. Oestrogel utrogestan and testosterone. I have only been on it six weeks. I felt a lot calmer from week one. Utrogestan works better than most sleeping pills for the insomnia. My sex life has improved almost from day one.

Depression is not too bad as I usually suffer worse during the winter. This is the best December I have had in about 11 years.

I have only been on it for six weeks. Other things are beginning to improve. Vaginal dryness and aching shoulders and painful feet to name a few. Several people have remarked on how well I look.

I have cooled down a lot and haven't hada hot flush for a month now.

As Jackie says tell your doctor you are suffering with these things and see if you can get prescribed HRT.

    Hope this helps.

The only thing about that is my hormone tests always show up normal so they never think I'm in peri although I have all the symptoms.

Before I had the HRT I tried a lady magnate, and b vitamins with dong quai .

The magnate was most surprising and cut down on the hot flushes and the dong quai made my periods come back.

I'm not sure if it did anything for my anxiety or depression because I didn't realise they were associated with menopause anyway.

If he/she won't help with hormones get a doctor that will!  Try it.

I purchased that magnet too. I don't know that it worked either but I did notice that when I didn't wear it for a couple of days that my anxiety came back.

Well maybe it does work for anxiety. I know when I was using it I was aware if I forgot to put it back after I had a bath,

couldn't say why but I soon realised it was missing.

My obgyn didn't even bother with hormone testing she based her diagnosis on symptoms.  Hormones fluctuate.
