Zopiclone advice please?

Posted , 6 users are following.

So. I've decided due to the frustration of being unable to sleep to try zopiclone and see if that helps me. (I've taken it a few times before, like 6 in the past 4/5 months) and I've got a new prescription to last me 14 days. I took one last night, and unfortunately still kept waking up every hour. (really sick of it) I've been waking up every hour for the past two years, not being able to sleep for more than three hours at a time. (when I do sleep for three hours, I feel like it's Christmas and received the best present ever as it barely happens). I'm just wondering, if I take Zopi's for like three days on the run, will it help me in being able to sleep uninterrupted and allow me to sleep for a good few hours? And has anyone else experienced this before?

Hi i am so sorry to hear  this i have been reading your story , i relate to this as i have this problem big time , but mine is related to other illnesses that led up to this problem so i have to deal with problems first ,and as that started way back in my childhood and i am 54, it will take some doing, but because of this i have learnt a lot years of experience, and the main thing i learnt was about me how my mind and body works, and what works for one person does not always work for another, but the great thing is advice and help, i read from a top specialist there are different types of insomnia, one is your life style and one is your health, i have both, but i think yours is your life style, your job, you work nights, and that is the hardest thing when learning to adapt with sleep , your mind normally associate sleep with night time, work all day go home relax a few hours and your ready for bed and remember by then its dark, peaceful and quiet, most of the time, you as you said have a physical job, problem there, that wakes you up like exercising (like the doctor who made big mistake no exercising before bed), if you have to exercise everyone knows you finish 3hrs before sleep,so again your body clock is out, your in daylight wide awake from your job with the noise of the world going on outside, unless like me i live in the countryside not long moved here for my health and all i hear during the day is birds twitter, is amazing, and as for drugs from the doctor great for a short term solution but like everyone said they do not work after a while your body gets used to them and do not work anymore more, sorry this is a bit long ,i am woman lol, so as i have learnt when i desperate to sleep during daylight hours, i close curtains make sure you have black out curtains, make room darker, no tv that is a must soft music in eys to drown out any noise, warm drink, nothing with alcohol or caffeine all stimulates, and just close your eyes and relax do not force sleep, worrying about it just make it worse, well i hope this helps you and others that read it, good luckcheesygrin

Long enough to be a novel! 😂😂

Thank you for everything you've said though, the effort of your reply is appreciated. I hope you get there with what you are doing, good luck. Unfortunately my insomnia isn't mainly caused by me working nights, I decided to work nights due to how I've always been a night owl and not being able to sleep til after around 4am so I knew a night job would suit me best. I never had trouble going to sleep after I'd finished work as I'd wind down beforehand and get to sleep just fine, I had trouble sleeping before my job and it got a lot worse with being on anti depressants as it causes insomnia. I just struggle with staying asleep, won't sleep for more than three hours, other than that I wake hourly and it's been like that for over two years. It's frustrating and exhausting at times, get so fed up of not being able to sleep properly like others and just want a good solid sleep for once as it's been such a long time. I've tried everything you've advised before, doesn't work either.

well sorry to hear that, like i said insomnia comes in two , life style and health, and dont worry no novel today, so if what i tried to help you with you have tried and no joy, then its the second health, and you said you are on antidepressant which i did not realise, i did not know this part of you, so for this you must have problems not just insomnia, reasons for taking this, and so i believe its deep rooted, and this maybe what is disturbing your sleep pattern, and if you say not, like a lot of people you are in denial, and do not like talking about it, and another without offended you your a man, and like most retreat into your cave a will not talk about your true feelings,

I'm definitely not in denial, I'm open about my problems and willingly discuss them when necessary, btw I'm a woman.

Sorry about that but when there is not a name at the top and like i said i have not read all your posts, i read a couple, and the one i read i really felt for you , and it mention no word of a woman and the job you do i assumed you were a man so forgive me for that, on that context that is why i said what i said because if you read it taking it on the lines that i thought you were a man then i said NOT all men but some do not like talking about there feelings and relate to going back into  their caves and not only they are in denial , woman can be in denial as well, and i did not mean that in a bad way, with one of my problems, a very serious, rape i was in denial for nearly most of my life which caused all my other serious problems, i came on this forum and a lot of people have helped me through it ,and i am very grateful, and with my experience i have helped a lot of people, that is all i was doing when i got in contact with you, and has i could not help you , there is no need to throw it back in my face,

I wasn't throwing it back in your face whatsoever, if it came across that way then I do apologise as I was only trying to let you know how I'm not in denial and openly speak about my problems. But because this is all sleep related, sleep was only what I was wanting to discuss. Also I don't know many men who'd use "butterfly" in their username and I've also got a picture of myself in the thumbnail.

I'm sorry you've gone through some s**t and that this site has helped you, I've gone through some s**t too and I know how it is.

Hi seeing as we have both apologised lets put this behind us and move on, we both came on this forum to get help and be helped, and i did not look at the picture , and some men would love to be called broken butterfly, i think its a lovely profile name, for both sexes, as you said you came on for one reason and one problem and i hope you get the help you need, as for me i have lots of problems going back to the age of 14 so i am not so lucky, but since i came on here lots of people have helped me and i am grateful and i hope i have helped some too, so if i have helped you a little that is fine if not no problem , just wish you a good a happy and healthy life
