    Download or print Well Life’s referral letter from the patient guide and share it with your GP.

    Speak with your GP

    Ask your GP about a referral to Well Life under NHS Right to Choose. Your GP sends the referral to the clinic.

After assessment

Diagnosis, medication and follow-up

Care can include diagnosis, medication where appropriate and ongoing medication reviews. Prescriptions are issued on the NHS; the usual NHS prescription charge may apply unless you are exempt.

After six months, the clinic will request a shared care agreement with your GP. If your GP declines, the clinic will continue medication reviews and prescribing without an extra clinic fee. NHS prescription charges may still apply.

Do I have to pay for an NHS Right to Choose assessment?

No. Eligible Right to Choose assessments are funded by the NHS, so there is no private assessment fee. NHS prescription charges may apply if you are prescribed medication, unless you are exempt.

How long will I wait for an assessment?

Well Life offers some of the shortest ADHD assessment waits in the UK. Waiting times can change, so check the patient guide for the latest estimate when you start your referral.

Can my GP refuse a Right to Choose referral?

Your GP can discuss whether a referral is appropriate for you and explain any clinical or safety concerns. Ask them about the reason and next steps if they are unable to refer you.

Can I have an appointment if I live outside Surrey?

Yes. Well Life offers virtual appointments to eligible patients across England. You must be registered with a GP in England and meet the service’s eligibility requirements.

Can Well Life prescribe ADHD medication?

Medication may be offered when clinically appropriate, alongside assessment and diagnosis. Prescriptions are issued on the NHS and standard NHS prescription charges may apply unless you are exempt.

What if my GP declines shared care?

The clinic will continue medication reviews and prescribing without an extra clinic fee if your GP does not agree to shared care. NHS prescription charges may still apply.
